Ivanovic is reportedly getting very close to returning, though it's unclear if he'll get his starting job back after the international break.

Ivanovic (hamstring) is in good condition and in the squad for Chelsea's match against Stoke.

This will be Ivanovic's first match since sustaining an injury while playing for his native Serbia in October. The 31-year-old right back has worn the armband three times this season when John Terry hasn't been included in the side, but Ivanovic and the whole Chelsea defense has been shaky at best and porous at worst. His return should help steady the back-four as it would allow Kurt Zouma to move to his more traditional center back role.

Ivanovic is still sidelined with his hamstring injury, however, he joined the first team for training this week.

Ivanovic was absent from the roster for Chelsea's Champions League match against Dynamo Kiev on Nov. 4. He's yet to see the pitch since picking up his injury while on international duty last month and he'll most likely continue training with the first team and have a late fitness test before the match verse Stoke City on Nov. 7.

Ivanovic (hamstring) has been ruled out for Saturday's match against Liverpool.

Ivanovic was always a long shot to play against the Reds, and he'll have to wait at least another week before he returns. Kurt Zouma has been starting at right back recently, with Cesar Azpilicueta holding down the left side.

Ivanovic (hamstring) has been ruled out for Saturday's match against West Ham.

Ivanovic wasn't expected to be fit for the trip to Upton Park, and manager Jose Mourinho simply confirmed it Friday. Mourinho has used Cesar Azpilicueta and Kurt Zouma at right back in the last two games, so it's unclear exactly how they will line up against the Hammers.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Ivanovic is expected to be sidelined for three weeks because of the hamstring injury he suffered while playing for Serbia last Thursday against Albania, the Daily Mail reports.

Given Chelsea's defensive woes, Ivanovic has been a relatively poor fantasy option this season. Cesar Azpilicueta, who has been starting on the left side since the beginning of last season, will likely move over to his more natural right back side, while Baba Rahman could get his first Premier League start.

Ivanovic was a vital piece of Chelsea's Premier League championship team, as he helped the club to the best defensive record in the league in addition to contributing seven goals with five assists in all competitions.

The Serbian's energetic style allowed him plenty of chances in Chelsea's free-flowing attack, and he was the top scoring defender in the league as a result. The 31-year-old is under contract through next season and will see out the remainder of his deal before likely moving on.
