Guzan made four saves and conceded once in his Boro debut, Sunday's 2-1 victory over Sunderland.

Guzan didn't see a ton of action in the first half as the Black Cats were caught napping for much of the first 45 minutes. However, in the second half, as Boro nursed a two-goal lead, Guzan started seeing a flurry of shots come in his direction. He spilled a couple of balls, the second of which led to a poke-home from Patrick van Aanholt to close the gap, but Middlesbrough was able to hold on regardless. Coming off a dreadful season for Aston Villa, conceding 58 times in 28 matches with just two clean sheets, Guzan was in strong form during the Copa America with the United States and will fight for starts with Victor Valdes in the Boro net.

Guzan signed a two-year contract with Middlesbrough on Friday after transferring from Aston Villa.

Guzan had a rough season last year with Aston Villa, and a starting spot this season is far from certain given Boro's acquisition of Victor Valdes as well. Either way, it's tough to see him as a high-upside option in most fantasy formats, even if he wins the job.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

It was a tough game from the start for Guzan and the United States in Tuesday's 4-0 loss to Argentina. Guzan finished with three saves.

It was a disappointing way to lose for the United States as they never stood a chance after Argentina scored in the third minute. Guzan didn't have the greatest of matches, but neither did any of the field players.

Guzan made three saves and caught three crosses, but he also conceded a goal during USA's 2-1 win over Ecuador on Thursday.

Guzan had a very good game and responded every time he was required, but he couldn't do anything in the sequence that led to Michael Arroyo's goal during the second half. The 31-year-old keeper has been pretty reliable over the past few games, though, so his fantasy value remains high even if he concedes a goal from time to time.

Guzan made six saves en route to his second consecutive clean sheet in Copa America 1-0 win over Paraguay on Saturday.

Guzan turned out to be the hero for the Yanks in a tensed night where the Americans conquered the top spot in Group A and may have avoided a date with the five-time world champions Brazil in their quarterfinals match on Thursday. Seems like the hosts are forming up a formidable defensive line and depending on the opponent Guzan may be looking to stamp his third clean sheet in-a-row.

Guzan made two saves on his way to a clean sheet against Costa Rica on Tuesday.

Guzan was not tested much as his teammates controlled the possession and pace of play, but made the important stops that were needed to ensure the 4-0 victory and crucial three points. Tuesday's match will give the goalkeeper some much needed confidence after an EPL season which not only saw his club relegated but he also was consigned to the bench. With a notoriously pores back line in front of him, fantasy owners may want to be cautious about relying on the 31-year-old for their Copa America lineups.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Guzan made five saves but allowed two goals during the U.S.' 2-0 loss to Colombia in the opening match of Copa America on Friday.

The Colombia attack was far from dominant, and one of the goals Guzan allowed came on a penalty by James Rodriguez, but it still wasn't enough to keep the match close. The U.S. will have two easier matches to finish up the group stage, but it will be imperative for Guzan to keep Paraguay and Costa Rica out of the net if the Americans hope to advance.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Guzan will start in goal for the US National Team at the 2016 Copa America Centenario.

Guzan edged out fellow keeper Tim Howard for the starting spot for the Americans despite both veterans having been dropped from the starting XI for the respective Premier League clubs. Howard is still working his way back following his hiatus from international competition, while Guzan could be looking for a new home after Aston Villa were relegated to the Championship for the 2016-17 campaign. Fantasy owners may want to be cautious selecting Guzan as he may be on a short leash with Howard lurking on the bench.
