Guzan made just one save and conceded two goals in a 2-2 draw to Sunderland on Saturday.

Guzan hasn't been asked to make many saves this season and that's probably a good thing as it tells us that the defense is performing much better this year. He's only had to make eight saves in his four games, but he's only kept one clean sheet. It will be tough for Aston Villa to keep clean sheets as they are usually out-possessed and out-shot in nearly every match. Guzan and Villa will take on Leicester City in two weeks time after an international break.

Aleksandar Kolarov has been an excellent fantasy option this season, and a home match against Watford on Saturday puts him atop the weekly defender rankings.

Guzan failed to keep a clean sheet in Saturday's 2-1 loss to Crystal Palace.

Guzan made four saves but was beaten first by Scott Dann's header and then Bakary Sako's late shot.

Guzan conceded one goal and made one save in Friday's 1-0 loss to Manchester United.

Guzan was hardly at fault for Adnan Januzaj's 29th minute goal, which took a deflection off a Villa defender at the mouth of the goal. While United had plenty of chances, they struggled to put the ball on net and Guzan was lucky to see only two shots on target. He'll look to bounce back in Villa's next fixture against Crystal Palace.

Guzan produced a pair of saves en route to a clean sheet as Aston Villa topped Bournemouth 1-0 on Saturday.

Guzan wasn't required often in the Villain's season-opening display, though he did make a good one-on-one save against Bournemouth striker Callum Wilson during the first half. Off to a strong start, Guzan faces a far taller task against Manchester United at Villa Park next weekend.

Guzan is starting Saturday at Bournemouth.

Guzman missed some of preseason training while competing in the Gold Cup for the US Men's National Team, but manager Tim Sherwood indicated he'd be fit for Saturday's match. Despite it being against a promoted side, it's not the easiest season debut, as Bournemouth led the Championship in goals scored and goal differential last season.

Guzan had only a week off between the Gold Cup and returning to Aston Villa, but manager Tim Sherwood said Wednesday that he could start Saturday against Bournemouth.

Guzan lost his starting spot at the end of last season to Shay Given, though the latter was never considered the long-term replacement and he's now with Stoke anyway. Guzan is expected to make plenty of saves this season, and while he's playing a promoted side this weekend, they led the Championship in goals and goal differential last season.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Guzan endured a tough season as Aston Villa finished with the 18th-ranked defense in the league and were nearly relegated, leading to his benching for the final five matches of the season.

The American was certainly not at his best, but also fell victim to shoddy defensive play at times. Guzan is still under contract but Villa are rumored to be in the market for a new 'keeper, fueling speculation that the 30-year-old could return to MLS this summer.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Guzan, who was demoted to the bench for last weekend's match against Everton, will likely remain behind Shay Given for Saturday's match against West Ham, the Birmingham Mail reports.

Guzan has been a fairly poor fantasy keeper his season, and while the Villa defense isn't exactly a tight unit, manager Tim Sherwood seems to be pushing the blame to Guzan, who had started the previous 108 Premier League matches. Sherwood did not say whether the change would mean Guzan would start the FA Cup final against Arsenal, pointing that it happens after the Premier League season and he's more concerned with ensuring his side does not get relegated.
