Gilardino has netted seven goals and played every game for Bologna this season, Football Italia reports.

His overwhelming offensive play has gone under-appreciated up until now. He faces Genoa in week 17 and will look to propagate the notion that he is an elite player. If you're looking for a low-cost, high-value addition to your fantasy squad in week 17 then look no further than Gilardino. Bologna needs this win and Gilardino will be looked to often.

Gilardino opened the scoring in the 22nd minute and then knocked in the game-winner in the 50th minute of Sunday's 2-1 win over Chievo Verona.

Gilardino scored his first goal of the season back on September 1 against Fiorentina and then went five straight Serie A matches without finding the back of the net. It's not completely surprising given that he's failed to get more than two shots off in a game during that scoreless span. In fact, he only took two shots against Chievo but they just both happened to go in. A goal outburst shouldn't be expected unless he starts taking more shots on goal.
