Altidore is unavailable for Monday's match against Tottenham, and he is now playing for Sunderland's U-21 team instead, Grant Wahl of Sports Illustrated reports.

Altidore has had a miserable season for Sunderland and it wouldn't be surprising if he was moved this summer.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Altidore started and played all 90 minutes of Saturday's 0-2 loss to Hull City, but he did not attempt a single shot.

Sunderland went down to 10 men in the fourth minute after Wes Brown was given a red card, which severity limited the Black Cats' attack. Altidore is in a terrific scoring slump, scoring just once this season, which came back on December 4 against Chelsea. Making matters worse, Sunderland have a number of tough Premier League fixtures coming up, including Manchester City, Arsenal and Liverpool in the next month.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Altidore got a rare start Wednesday against Stoke City, and looked to be comfortable as well as a dangerous threat.

This might have been the first game this season when Altidore looked like a Premier League player. While he only recorded one shot, he was able to draw five fouls, thus proving his attacking prowess. Hopefully, he can get a few more starts to get back into a goal-scoring form. However, it is tough to trust Altidore seeing as how Sunderland strikers have only accounted for six goals all season long.

Altidore scored in the 14th minute of Sunderland's 4-3 loss to Chelsea on Wednesday.

Altidore's score was his first career Premier League goal, coming a little later than many expected. The goal was on his only shot of the day despite playing the full 90 minutes. Sunderland fans, and fantasy owners, are surely hope this is the beginning of a scoring barrage from the American striker, who has had far more success for the U.S. national team than for his club this season.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Altidore could be in line for more playing time, after Steven Fletcher suffered a dislocated shoulder in last Saturday's match against West Brom, which will likely keep him out for a number of months.

Altidore was close to scoring his first Premier League goal back on September 14 against Arsenal until a late whistle for a foul took it back. He already started Tuesday's Capital One Cup match against Peterborough and will likely remain in the Starting XI if he stays fit.

Altidore (hamstring) trained fully Thursday for the first time in the last eight days, Grant Wahl of Sports Illustrated reports.

Altidore, who did not play in last Saturday's Premier League match against Crystal Palace, is available off the bench for the United States' World Cup qualifier against Costa Rica on Friday. If he's able to play, it would certainly be a great sign for his availability on September 14 against Arsenal.

Altidore was held out of Saturday's match against Crystal Palace with a hamstring injury, ESPN FC reports.

Altidore is still expected to participate in two World Cup qualifiers this week for the United States, although he'll be assessed by U.S. national team doctors before he's cleared to play.

Altidore assisted on Eddie Johnson's goal and then recorded a hat trick of his own, all during the second half of Wednesday's friendly against Bosnia-Hezegovina.

Altidore became the first U.S. player to score a goal in five straight matches and is in top form heading into his Sunderland debut this Saturday against Fulham.
