Altidore scored a penalty kick and had two shots in Saturday’s 3-3 draw against Columbus.

Altidore was able to score his first goal since returning from the Gold Cup, as he capped the comeback in the 89th minute. Some will say that Altidore’s penalty was a poor call as it looked like he went down a bit too easy, but the call was made anyways. Altidore also played the whole 90 minutes and looks to be nearing full fitness that was questioned while on international duty. He will try to score for the second straight game next Saturday in New England.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Altidore (international duty) will start in Saturday's game against the Union.

Altidore was dismissed from the US Men's National Team for not being up to fitness but he'll still start for Toronto on Saturday. He could be extra motivated to prove otherwise, although there's a real possibility that he won't be playing the full 90.

Altidore was removed from the USMNT Gold Cup roster Monday and will be available to play Saturday against Philadelphia.

Altidore's return will be a big boost for Toronto, who continue to be without Michael Bradley because of the Gold Cup. Altidore has six goals in 12 appearances this season and still seems to be working his way back to match fitness following a spell on the sidelines with a hamstring injury.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Altidore scored in the 56th minute of Toronto's 3-1 win over Montreal on Wednesday.

Altidore took a brilliant pass from Michael Bradley and scored with a wonderful strike, though it was his only attempt of the game. He missed time at the end of May with a hamstring injury, and the goal was his first since May 10. Unfortunately, he will be leaving for the Gold Cup after this weekend's match against D.C. United, a tournament that could keep him away from MLS for nearly all of July.

Altidore will leave Toronto FC following Saturday's game against D.C. United to join the U.S. Men's National Team in preparation for the Gold Cup, Kurtis Larson of the Toronto Sun reports.

Altidore will enter international competition having not played a full 90 since May 10 for Toronto FC. The exact length of his absence remains undetermined, but Luke Moore should continue to see added minutes throughout the majority of July nonetheless.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Altidore (hamstring) said after Tuesday's practice that he's not quite 100 percent and isn't ready to play a full 90, John Molinaro of Sportsnet reports.

Altidore still seems to be recovering from his hamstring injury but he managed to play for eight minutes off the bench in Saturday's match against D.C. United. After his remarks Tuesday, expectations for Altidore's upcoming games should be curbed as he's unlikely to take on a full compliment of minutes for fear of re-aggravating his oft-injured hamstring. However, he notified USA manager Jurgen Klinsmann that he'll be ready for Gold Cup selection in July.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Altidore played eight minutes off the bench in his return from a hamstring injury Saturday against D.C. United.

Altidore returned early from the injury, and he could very well slot back into the starting lineup in Toronto's next MLS game, though that doesn't come until June 20 against NYC FC.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Altidore (hamstring) is included on the 18-man roster as a substitute for Saturday's match against D.C. United.

Altidore is returning to the lineup a bit earlier than expected after suffering a hamstring injury just a few weeks ago. While his availability for Saturday's match is a good sign moving forward, it's still unclear just how fit he truly is at this point.
