24-Year-Old Forward Sunderland Premier
Jozy Altidore Contract Information:
Signed a four-year deal with Sunderland in July 2013 after a $13 million transfer from AZ Alkmaar.
Altidore suffered a Grade 2 hamstring tear in the United States' opening match of the World Cup, and despite being deemed "available to play" by coach Jurgen Klinsmann, he was unable to go in Tuesday's loss to Belgium in the Round of 16, ESPN FC reports.
Clearly Klinsmann's comments were a smokescreen, as the Americans could have desperately used Altidore's skills near the goal, but he was not close to being able to contribute. While he was unable to participate again in the World Cup, Altidore is expected to be fully healthy for the start of the upcoming Premier League season.
