Balotelli had a few opportunities in front of goal Saturday but was unable to get on the score sheet in Liverpool's 1-1 draw with Everton.

Balotelli has yet to score in the Premier League but is getting plenty of opportunities in front of goal. The enigmatic Italian did't have great goal scoring record during his previous stint in the Premier League with Manchester City, and has started the season slowly, giving reason for fantasy owners to temper expectations until Balotelli shows good form over a few gameweeks.

Balotelli took three shots, with two on goal, but picked up a yellow card during Liverpool's 3-1 Premier League loss at West Ham on Saturday.

Balotelli opened his Liverpool account on Tuesday in a 2-1 Champions League victory over Ludogorets, but he has yet to find the back of the net for Liverpool in Premier League play. Opposing defenses are keying on him without Daniel Sturridge to take much pressure off, which has resulted in a number of potential conflicts. Nevertheless, he will continue to lead the line until Sturridge returns, though that could come as soon as next weekend for the Liverpool derby.

Balotelli scored in the 82nd minute of Liverpool's 2-1 Champions League victory over Ludogorets on Tuesday.

With Daniel Sturridge still sidelined with a thigh injury, Balotelli continues to lead the line for the Reds. Despite just joining the squad, he seems to have good chemistry with those around to set him up, and he'll take that into Saturday's Premier League match against West Ham.

Balotelli missed practice during the week due to an illness, but was able to make the start in Liverpool's 0-1 loss to Aston Villa on Saturday.

Balotelli had a quiet game Saturday, only managing two shots before being subbed off in the 71st minute. With Daniel Sturridge (hamstring) out, the focus of the Liverpool attack is on Balotelli, so it should only be a matter of time before the Italian international finds the back of the net.

Balotelli was unable to train Thursday due to an illness, but he is expected to play Saturday against Aston Villa, the Liverpool Echo reports.

Balotelli is expected to lead the line for Liverpool in the coming weeks after Daniel Sturridge suffered a hamstring injury while on international duty.

Balotelli didn't manage to get on the scoresheet in his Liverpool debut, but recorded a shot on target and a key pass before being subbed off in the 61st minute.

Balotelli's debut was a quiet, but successful one as he forced Hugo Lloris to make a tough save early on and created a bit of extra space up front for the Liverpool attack to exploit. It is encouraging for fantasy owners to see manager Brendan Rodgers preferring to play two up front, and it should only be a matter of time before Balotelli starts finding the back of the net.

Balotelli is in the starting XI for Liverpool's Premier League match against Tottenham on Sunday.

The high-profile move of Balotelli has grabbed headlines, but he's ultimately going to be judged by what he does on the pitch. Manager Brendan Rodgers will put his new man right into the lineup to see what he can do, although it would be a bit surprising if he played all 90 minutes.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Balotelli, who officially joined Liverpool on Monday from AC Milan, could be part of the squad to face Tottenham on Sunday. "He's been into pre-season and he's played three 45-minute games," manager Brendan Rodgers said Wednesday. "He might not be up to full match speed, but he's looking fit."

Balotelli brings a ton of talent to Anfield, and if Rodgers can figure out how to use him effectively, while keeping him happy, he could be a steal for the Reds for the 16 million they paid for him.
