The 30-year-old had a relatively quiet match, but he made a large contribution in the 86th minute by setting up Jese for a crucial second goal. Modric has just two goals and four assists on the season, but he has heated up of late, with a goal and two assists in his last four matches. He will look to continue his recent uptick in production Sunday versus Malaga.

Modric was in excellent form against Malaga but failed to make the breakthrough that his side desperately required. Apart from a high shot tally, the Croatian delivered eight crosses and completed 95% of all the passes he attempted. The midfielder has had a slow start to the league campaign but now seems to be growing in confidence.

Modric produced a good all-round performance Saturday as Real Madrid beat Granada 1-0.

Modric was one of several players who had a goal denied by the excellent form of Granada goalkeeper Andres Fernandez on Saturday. The Croatian took two shots in the game and produced a game-high number of six crosses but couldn't register a goal or assist. He stayed on the field for the enitre 90 minutes however as Real held on for a narrow win.

Modric produced an excellent performance but it was not enough to earn Real all three points. The Croatian had a game high pass accuracy of 94.3% as he dominated midfield, while he also had two shots on goal. Modric missed much of the tail end of last season with a knee injury but based on this display it is vital that Real make sure to keep him fit.
