Modric is out for six weeks after injuring his knee Saturday against Malaga, ESPN FC reports.

It will be a huge blow for Real to lose one of its most influential midfielders with so many vital games coming up. Modric suffered a medial collateral ligament sprain on his right knee and could even be a doubt for the Champions League final on Jun. 6 if Real were to make it.

Modric (thigh) has been named to the squad for Real Madrid's Champions League match against Schalke on Tuesday, ESPN FC reports.

Modric suffered his thigh injury back in November and could be a huge help for a Madrid side that has struggled of late. However, given the long layoff, it wouldn't be surprising if he didn't start, or had his playing time limited against Schalke if he does.
