Jovetic (hamstring) will not play in Manchester City's Capital One Cup match against Sheffield Wednesday on Wednesday, but he may be able to return for Saturday's Premier League match against Hull City. "Stevan will maybe be ready but if he cannot play on Saturday he will be ready for Tuesday (against Roma in the Champions League)," manager Manuel Pellegrini said Tuesday.

Jovetic suffered the injury over the international break and has yet to play since. He scored two goals in his first three games of the Premier League season, but he may be limited when he returns, with Sergio Aguero and Edin Dzeko starting up front recently.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Jovetic will not play Sunday against Chelsea, as he is still recovering from a hamstring injury, manager Manuel Pellegrini said Friday.

With Jovetic sidelined, Sergio Aguero will likely start up front alone, with Edin Dzeko spelling him off the bench. Jovetic started off the season very well, scoring two goals in three games, but he missed a significant portion of last season with injuries, making his latest ailment a little more concerning.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Jovetic has been ruled out for Manchester City's Premier League match against Arsenal on Saturday due to a hamstring injury he picked up while on international duty. "Steven won't play against Arsenal but I am hoping he will be OK next week," manager Manuel Pellegrini said Friday.

Jovetic has been a solid fantasy producer this season, especially given his reduced price tag in most salary cap games behind Sergio Aguero and Edin Dzeko. Unfortunately the hamstring injury will knock him out for at least a week, leaving the latter two to start up front against the Gunners on Saturday.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Jovetic picked up a hamstring injury while on international duty with Montenegro and he is an injury doubt for Manchester City's Premier League match against Arsenal on Saturday, The Guardian reports.

Jovetic has started all three league games for City this season, posting two goals in that span. As the cheapest option of the three-headed City attack (he is joined by Sergio Aguero and Edin Dzeko), his fantasy value is certainly intriguing, although the hamstring injury will likely limit him Saturday, if he can even play.

Jovetic scored in the 41st and 55th minutes of Manchester City's 3-1 win over Liverpool on Monday.

Starting up front with Edin Dzeko once again, Jovetic is now just one goal away from matching his total in Premier League play last season. The City strikers have been playing quite well of late, with Sergio Aguero scoring again Monday to record a goal in both of City's matches this season. It seemed likely that Jovetic would move to the bench if Aguero was inserted back in, but after Monday's performance, it could be Dzeko that moves.

Manchester City have indicated that Jovetic is not for sale and will reject any bids for the forward, according to the Mirror.

Jovetic was the subject of Inter Milan bids earlier this summer, but now Juventus has been trying to test the waters of bringing him back to Italy. Manchester City do not appear likely to sell at this point.

Jovetic led Manchester City with five shots in Manchester City's Premier League opener Sunday against Newcastle, although none landed on goal.

Jovetic started up front with Edin Dzeko, but he wasn't able to find any of the goal-scoring form that saw him score four times during City's tour of the U.S. during the Guinness International Champions Cup. Jovetic is the clear third striker on the depth chart behind Dzeko and Sergio Aguero, with the latter only coming off the bench due to a lack of match fitness following a post-World Cup holiday. Once Aguero is fit, it wouldn't be a surprise if Jovetic went back to the bench of most Premier League matches.

Jovetic has scored four goals during the Guinness International Champions Cup in the United States, with manager Manuel Pellegrini saying "If he's fit all the year, he will be a very important player for us," the Daily Mail reports.

Jovetic missed most of last season with calf and hamstring injuries, but he's taken advantage of the increased playing time in the States with Sergio Aguero and Alvaro Negredo not playing. He has been starting up front with Edin Dzeko and they could be a very powerful duo early in the season if they can keep up their once Premier League play starts on Aug. 16.
