Pepe won three tackles, made four interceptions and blocked a shot during Saturday's 5-0 blanking of Deportivo.

The veteran assumed additional leadership responsibilities at the back after Sergio Ramos was forced to leave with an injury, leading Los Blancos to their first clean sheet since late November. Pepe rarely pitches in on the offensive end, and while he is a fairly important player for his club, he primarily only holds fantasy value in formats that reward defensive contributions. Next up is a home fixture with Sporting Gijon this Sunday.

Pepe had a clean sheet Saturday as Real Madrid defeated Granada 1-0.

Pepe marked his return to the side last week with a clean sheet and again succeeded in keeping out the opposition Saturday. The Portuguese international formed a strong defensive pairing with Raphael Varane but was barely troubled, Granada only registering three shots on target. Pepe also produced a shot of his own but failed to convert.

Pepe had a clean sheet Saturday as Real Madrid beat Espanyol 6-0.

Pepe played his first game of the season and marked it with a solid clean sheet. There was little to trouble the Portuguese international, who made four clearances and formed a strong centre-back pairing with Serio Ramos. Expect Pepe to keep his place in the side next time out now that he has made his way back.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Pepe was limited to 33 starts because of injury this season, but still managed to contribute two goals and three assists while helping the club to 15 clean sheets.

The Portuguese defender has seemingly always struggled through injuries due to his rugged style of play, but there have never been any doubts about his effectiveness when he's on the pitch. Now 32 years old, Pepe was able to remain ahead of the likes of Rafael Verane and Alvaro Arbeloa on the depth chart this season but could see his role change as new manager Rafael Benitez assesses his squad this summer.

Pepe was taken off with injury after 40 minutes Saturday in Real Madrid's 7-3 win over Getafe.

Pepe had to be taken off for Raphael Varane in the first half but the extent of the injury is yet to be made clear. The Portuguese defender played poorly in his time on the field and conceded twice.

Pepe conceded one Sunday as Real Madrid secured a 4-1 victory over Espanyol.

Pepe was strong defensively and can blame his lost clean sheet on a poor Keylor Navas goalkeeping error. Pepe won several important challenges but did pick-up an early yelloe card in the 23rd minute.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Pepe scored his side's first goal as Real Madrid tied 2-2 Saturday with Valencia.

Pepe headed in James' second half corner to halve the deficit after 56 minutes. Defensively his poor positioning meant that he was at fault for Valencia's first goal but he also won a decent number of challenges and made a team-high number of ten clearances.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Pepe played the full 90 minutes and conceded twice as Real defeated Sevilla 3-2 Saturday.

Defense wasn't Real's strongest attribute against Sevilla but Pepe and Raphael Varane's performance at the heart of the backline had litle to do with that. Pepe looked solid, he made eight clearances and several telling interceptions.
