RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Podolski was not in the 18-man squad for Arsenal's match at Everton on Saturday.

Podolski was held out of Arsenal's Premier League opener against Crystal Palace last weekend, as well as their Champions League match against Besiktas following his recent return to training thanks to Germany's long run at the World Cup. However, Germany teammates Mesut Ozil and Per Mertesacker were both inserted into the starting XI for Saturday's match, so it's a little unclear why Podolski continues to sit. There have been some whispers that he could be headed to Galatasaray this summer, and if he not part of the squad for Tuesday's return leg against Besiktas, the whispers will only get louder.

When asked if he could foresee a return to Germany, Podolski admitted that he would be open to a return to Cologne at some point in the future, reports Sky Sports.

Transfer rumors are often born more out of what is not said than what is actually said, and Podolski did say that he planned on seeing out the rest of his contract with Arsenal. While he might be open to a return to Germany in the future, he doesn't necessarily see it in his immediate future.
