Beausejour and the Chile defense held Colombia scoreless in Wednesday's 2-0 win in the Copa America semifinal. Beausejour finished with two successful tackles and held his ground while the Colombians were in attack mode for much of the match.

Chile now have two straight clean sheets, but doing so against Argentina will be a bit tougher. The Argentines took the first meeting 2-1 and haven't slowed down since, most recently taking down the United States 4-0.

Beausejour and the Chile back line picked up their first clean sheet of Copa America in Saturday's big 7-0 win over Mexico. Beausejour was subbed out in the 73rd minute and finished with one interception and one tackle won.

Chile's defense hadn't been playing well, but they dominated as a team against Mexico. Beausejour will have a tough task of repeating the clean sheet with Colombia on the slate next in the semifinals.

Beausejour attempted one shot, put in four crosses and earned an assist in Tuesday's win over Panama.

The 32-year-old was taken off in the 60th minute, but he was a constant threat on the wing and was able to tee up Eduardo Vargas' second goal to help Chile reverse an early deficit. Beausejour should assume his typical wide role as the knockout phase of the tournament begins Saturday versus Mexico.

Beausejour came on in the 68th minute and scored in the 92nd minute of Chile's 3-1 win over Australia in their World Cup opener on Friday.

The late goal could turn out to be huge for Chile, as goal differential could ultimately decide Group B after Netherlands defeated Spain 5-1 on Friday. Beausejour isn't expected to be a huge scorer for the Chileans, as evidenced by his two goals in 35 games for Wigan last season.
