Schwarzer has been dropped from the Australia team that will face France and Canada in October, reports the Daily Mail.

It would appear as though the keeper was dropped due to lack of playing time after moving to Chelsea, but he is expected to start for the London club on Tuesday night in the Capital One Cup.

Schwarzer is looking for first-team minutes and wouldn't be able to find them at Fulham, which is why he has decided to move on. The market for 40-year old goalkeepers isn't great, although that doesn't mean he won't find a landing spot somewhere.

Schwarzer, at 40-years-old, has made 25 starts this Premier League season, including back-to-back clean sheets in his past couple games.

Schwarzer is currently fifth in the league in saves with 90 on the season. Part of that high number is a result of Fulham's poor defensive record, which exposes Schwarzer to many shots; however, the Aussie is the fifth-ranked fantasy goalkeeper at the moment, so his saves make up for some of the goals the Cottagers allow.

The Fulham defense has had better days. United's attack on the wings was relentless and Schwarzer's back line collapsed.

Schwarzer only had to fend off two shots by Norwich to record the shutout in Fulham's 5-0 win Saturday.

While some may have been caught daydreaming with their team dominating like Fulham did, Schwarzer proved that he hasn't lost a step even though he is about to turn 40 on October 6.
