Given could return to training soon after recovering from knee surgery. "Shay isn't fit at the moment," manager Mark Hughes said Monday. Hes with the physios and we want to get him out on the training pitches sooner rather than later. Hes had an issue with his knee but were hopeful once he starts goalkeeping work which he hasnt been able to do lately, then hell be able get up to speed quickly.

Given's return to fitness will be a nice boost to Stoke's depth, though with Jack Butland firmly entrenched as the No. 1 keeper, Given's fantasy upside is very limited.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Given will remain sidelined for Saturday's match versus West Ham as he continues to recover from a knee injury, the Stoke Sentinel reports.

The 39-year-old has not played since injuring his knee on international duty in October, and he is still not ready to make his return. Due to the presence of breakout 'keeper Jack Butland, Given is unlikely to see many starts, even when he is fully fit.

Given (knee) is still not fit following his injury in the victory for Ireland over Germany in October, the BBC reports.

The 39-year-old keeper has been sidelined for both international and club duties since his injury in October. He'll continue his recovery as the Irish squad tries to qualify for Euro 2016.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Given will be unavailable for the Republic of Ireland's Euro 2016 playoff against Bosnia as he awaits knee surgery, according to Damian Spellman of the Press Association.

Given's role as Jack Butland's backup doesn't give him much fantasy Premier League value, though it's certainly a bit to the Irish squad in their quest for qualification.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Given (knee) is available off the bench Saturday against Watford.

Given's role is as the backup, so he wasn't expected to start even with his return to fitness. Jack Butland will continue holding down the fort in front of the net.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Given continues to receive treatment for a twisted knee he suffered during the international break, the Stoke Sentinel reports.

Given isn't Stoke's starting keeper anyway, so his absence will only allow Jakob Haugaard to sit on the bench while Jack Butland continues to start.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Given signed a two-year contract with Stoke City on Friday after a free transfer from Aston Villa.

Given started a number of Premier League matches toward the end of last season, but with Brad Guzan expected to reclaim the No. 1 spot, Given will move to Stoke and battle for a starting job with English youngster Jack Butland. Asmir Begovic, who started most of Stoke's game last season, is widely believed to be heading to Chelsea to back up Thibaut Courtois.
