Lampard (quad) will start Saturday against the Crew.

Lampard has been plagued by injury since moving to MLS and he'll be making just his second start for NYC on Saturday. His move into the starting XI demotes Kwadwo Poku to the bench, but Poku stands a good chance of subbing on for Lampard if NYC is desperate for a goal towards the end of the match.

Obafemi Martins could be the key to a GPP-winning lineup this weekend, and RotoWire's JD Bazzo has a number of solid value plays to help afford the Sounders striker.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Lampard (quad) was left off Sunday's 18-man roster against the Galaxy.

Lampard was expected to be available for Sunday's game but his ultimate unavailability marks yet another disappointment to the start of his MLS career. At this point he's far too risky of an option to utilize when creating weekly lineups since his status isn't ever clear until shortly before kickoff, and for the most part he's been confined to the bench for the vast majority of his time stateside. Nevertheless, his next opportunity to play will come against Columbus on Saturday.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Lampard (quad) has returned to training and is expected to be available for Sunday's game against the Galaxy, Jeff Carlisle of ESPN reports.

While Lampard is expected to play, head coach Jason Kreis was tight-lipped about whether or not the Englishman would actually start. If he does move into the starting XI, then either Kwadwo Poku, Mix Diskerud, or Andrew Jacobson will have to take a seat on the bench.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Lampard (quad) is not in the 18-man squad to face Columbus on Wednesday.

Lampard seemed very iffy to play, and he'll take another seat Wednesday, with Kwadwo Poku getting the start in his stead.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Lampard has a quad strain and is considered questionable for Wednesday's game against the Crew, Dylan Butler of MSG Varsity reports.

Lampard has only made two MLS appearances this season as he continues to be held back with minor injuries. It seems that Lampard and his new squad are routinely erring on the side of caution, which undoubtedly makes it frustrating to use the Englishman without uncertainty. Until he racks up a few consecutive starts in a row, Lampard is a risky option to build lineups around.

Lampard (ankle) is not in the 18-man squad to face D.C. United on Thursday.

Lampard was questionable for the game after suffering the injury in training Wednesday. Given the lateness in the week of the incident, he seemed like a long shot to play. His next opportunity will come next Wednesday against Columbus.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Lampard made his MLS debut by coming on for Andrew Jacobson in the 69th minute of New York City FC's 3-2 loss to Montreal on Saturday.

Lampard's MLS debut was delayed multiple times, famously for his "loan" back to Manchester City, but he then suffered a calf injury during his first week training with New York. The City midfield is very crowded, but Lampard was brought to New York to play, so he's fully expected to be in the starting lineup Aug. 9 against the Red Bulls.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Lampard (calf) is available off the bench Saturday against Montreal.

Lampard has yet to make his NYC FC debut because of the calf injury, which was initially described as very minor, but he'll at least finally put his team kit on Saturday. His fantasy value is a bit muted given his role off the bench, but it's only a matter of time before he moves into the starting XI.
