Carrick (Achilles) has agreed to a new two-and-a-half year contract extension with Manchester United, according to the Daily Mail.

That's the good news for Carrick. The bad news is that the Achilles injury that was expected to sideline him for at least six weeks could very well make him miss the rest of the Premier League season. He's been an important part of the United midfield this year but it will be awhile before he's back on the pitch.
