Carrick (ankle) will reportedly avoid a lengthy injury absence, according to the Telegraph.

While full assessment is still to be provided, the medical staff at United is confident the injury is not as bad as the initial forecast was. If recovery goes according to plan the English international should be back in action late November or early December at the latest. Nevertheless, he will miss the visit to Watford on Saturday. Bastian Schweinsteiger and Morgan Schneiderlin are set to fill the defensive midfield positions for the Red Devils in that game.

Carrick (ankle) was carried off the pitch in the closing minutes of an England friendly against Spain, Manchester Evening News reports.

Carrick's expected to have a scan of his right ankle to assess the severity of the injury, which is speculated to be ligament damage. The initial prediction on the recovery time for the injury is around six weeks, however, once the scans are completed there will be a more accurate recovery window.

Carrick has been training fully and is expected to be available to manager Louis van Gaal for the visit to Goodison Park on Saturday, The Daily Star reports.

The English has been training fully with the national team but along with Rooney didn’t travel to Lithuania just as a precautionary after having a little issue with his groin. With Ander Herrera and Bastian Schweinsteiger also having fitness troubles, though, it is hard to say who’ll be the most game-ready to start against the Toffees. It will probably be a game-time decision for manager Louis van Gaal, so keep an eye on the progress of the three midfielders.

Carrick (knock) has been deemed fit for Sunday's match at Arsenal.

Carrick was unavailable for Tuesday's Champions League match against Wolfsburg, but the injury was never expected to keep him out long-term. His return to fitness doesn't guarantee a start, as manager Louis van Gaal has been rotating Carrick in and out with Bastian Schweinsteiger and Morgan Schneiderlin.

Carrick (calf) is starting Saturday against Liverpool.

Carrick picked up the injury while on international duty, but he'll slot right back into the starting lineup alongside Bastian Schweinsteiger, with Morgan Schneiderlin available off the bench.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Carrick, who picked up a calf injury while playing for England, has been deemed fit to play Saturday against Liverpool.

Carrick's playing time is likely to be limited, if he plays at all, as Bastian Schweinsteiger appears to be getting most of the starts alongside Morgan Schneiderlin. Carrick plays a very defensive midfield role, so even when he does start, his fantasy upside is limited in most formats.

England manager Roy Hodgon said Monday that Carrick is dealing with a slight calf injury, and he does not believe it will be a long-term issue, according to the Press Association.

Carrick has returned to Manchester to be evaluated by the club's medical staff, and it seems like he'll be a long shot to be available for Saturday's match against Liverpool.
