Carrick (calf) has been ruled out for Sunday's match against Everton.

Carrick suffered the injury during the Manchester derby earlier this month and missed last weekend's tie with Chelsea. It's a tough absence, though he isn't a big fantasy contributor in most formats. Daley Blind may return from his ankle injury to slot into the defensive midfield.

Carrick (calf) has been ruled out for Manchester United's trip to face Chelsea on Saturday.

Carrick suffered the injury during last weekend's Manchester derby, and while it was not considered overly serious, he'll miss another big game for the Red Devils. With Daley Blind also sidelined, manager Louis van Gaal may need to push Ander Herrera back to the defensive midfield.

Carrick came off late in the Manchester derby because of a stiff calf, but manager Louis van Gaal said he expects Carrick to be fit to face Chelsea on Saturday, the Daily Express reports.

Van Gaal had already used his three substitutes, so he was unable to get a player on for Carrick after he was forced off. Playing with only 10 men, United eventually gave up a late consolation to Sergio Aguero, but the damage had already been done and Untied walked away with a 4-2 win. Carrick isn't a great fantasy play in most formats, but for those that include stats for recoveries, passes and interceptions, he gets a solid boost.

Carrick (calf) is available off the bench for Saturday's match against Sunderland.

Manager Louis van Gaal said Friday that Carrick was fit again, but because he has been out for so long with the injury, he was unlikely to start, which is the case. Even with lots of playing time, Carrick isn't a big fantasy producer in most formats.

Carrick will be available for Saturday's match against Sunderland after recovering from a calf injury, manager Louis van Gaal said Friday.

Van Gaal also noted that Carrick has trained with the team just once, so there is certainly no guarantee that he'll be slotted back into the starting XI.

Carrick suffered a setback in his recovery from a calf injury, and manager Louis van Gaal said Friday that he is unsure when Carrick will return.

Carrick doesn't provide a ton of value in most formats as a defensive midfielder, but he's an important piece for United when he's on the pitch. Daley Blind, who is dealing with a head injury, will likely continue to play for Carrick in Premier League matches.
