Carrick (leg) is starting Tuesday against Stoke City.

While it's certainly good news that Carrick is fit enough to play for the first time since Jan. 9, his holding midfield role doesn't lend itself to a ton of fantasy value in most formats.

Carrick (leg) may return to the team for the first time since January 9, according to Van Gaal.

Carrick (muscular injury) is out for Sunday's match against Liverpool.

After seeing one minute of action against Swansea at the start of the year, he was held out of the squad against Newcastle on Tuesday, but it was not disclosed why. This muscular concern will hold him out of this weekend's match against Liverpool, but he could return as early as next weekend. Despite a bevy of options at holding midfielder, the 34-year-old has 11 starts and made 16 appearances for United in the Premier League.

Carrick (ankle) will reportedly avoid a lengthy injury absence, according to the Telegraph.

While full assessment is still to be provided, the medical staff at United is confident the injury is not as bad as the initial forecast was. If recovery goes according to plan the English international should be back in action late November or early December at the latest. Nevertheless, he will miss the visit to Watford on Saturday. Bastian Schweinsteiger and Morgan Schneiderlin are set to fill the defensive midfield positions for the Red Devils in that game.

Carrick (ankle) was carried off the pitch in the closing minutes of an England friendly against Spain, Manchester Evening News reports.

Carrick's expected to have a scan of his right ankle to assess the severity of the injury, which is speculated to be ligament damage. The initial prediction on the recovery time for the injury is around six weeks, however, once the scans are completed there will be a more accurate recovery window.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Carrick has been training fully and is expected to be available to manager Louis van Gaal for the visit to Goodison Park on Saturday, The Daily Star reports.

The English has been training fully with the national team but along with Rooney didn’t travel to Lithuania just as a precautionary after having a little issue with his groin. With Ander Herrera and Bastian Schweinsteiger also having fitness troubles, though, it is hard to say who’ll be the most game-ready to start against the Toffees. It will probably be a game-time decision for manager Louis van Gaal, so keep an eye on the progress of the three midfielders.
