Keane took a team-high seven shots during the 5-1 rout of Philadelphia on Saturday but only two were on goal and he failed to convert on both. However, he recorded his second assist of the season during the 90-minute outing.

Keane has now taken 19 shots, seven on goal, during eight MLS appearances this season. With Gyasi Zardes likely leaving the squad for the Gold Cup in July, Keane may see even more touches in front of the net in due time.

Keane (international duty) rejoined the Galaxy for Wednesday's U.S. Open Cup game against amateur club PSA Elite and was able to score three goals in 70 minutes during the 6-1 rout.

Keane's performance was expected against an amateur team, but more importantly he's available for MLS competition after an international stint with Ireland. Next up for the potent striker is a game against the struggling Union on Saturday.

Keane signed an unspecified contract extension with the Galaxy, Adam Serrano of LAGalaxy.com reports.

The Galaxy haven't released the terms of their deal with Keane, but it appears that the 34-year-old Irishman will be in Los Angeles for multiple years to come. He's currently away from the team competing for Ireland and is expected back June 20 against Philadelphia.

Keane will be available for Saturday's match against Vancouver, but he will then leave for international duty, which will keep him from playing June 13 against Columbus.

Keane has battled injuries in the early part of the MLS season, but he still has two goals and one assist in six appearances. While he won't play on the 13th, he should be free to play June 20 against Philadelphia.

Keane (groin) is available off the bench Friday against Houston.

Keane has missed seven weeks due to the ailment, and while he trained fully over the past few days, he's clearly not ready to go the full 90 minutes. If he features Friday, which is expected, he'll likely get back in the starting lineup next week.

Keane could return from his groin injury to play Friday against the Dynamo, MLSSoccer.com reports.

Keane finally returned to fully training this week and looks poised to make his return after almost seven weeks out. The Galaxy have struggled to score goals without Keane, so his return will be a huge boost to both L.A. and fantasy owners.

Keane (groin) has returned to light training, but he is unlikely to play Sunday against Orlando.

Keane has missed the last six games due to the ailment, and given the layoff, plus the fact that he's still not training fully, it seems like a long shot that he'll even be able to make the bench Sunday. If he does sit out again, his next opportunities will come next Friday against the Dynamo or May 27 against Real Salt Lake.

Keane is not expected to play Wednesday against Real Salt Lake because of his groin injury, the team's official website reports.

Keane scored in two of the first three games of the season, but has missed the last four games due to the groin ailment. The Galaxy are undefeated in that span (two wins), giving them little reason to rush last year's MVP back, especially so early in the season. His next opportunity to play will come Saturday at FC Dallas.
