2025 Fantasy Outlook
Ozuna had a resurgence in 2023 after two straight down years, and he was even better last season as he finished with 39 homers and a .302/.378/.546 slash line while playing in all 162 games for the first time in his career. His 154 wRC+ is the second-best mark of his career, trailing only the shortened 2020 campaign. He exclusively played designated hitter and is unlikely to see the outfield during 2025 in his age-34 season. Ozuna was the steadying force in an underwhelming and injury-plagued Atlanta offense last year, but there should be better support and more opportunities for counting stats in 2025. The veteran slugger has had some boom-or-bust tendencies in the past but has been one of the best hitters in baseball over the past two seasons, so it may be time to leave those reservations in the rearview mirror. Goes yard again Tuesday
Ozuna went 2-for-4 with a walk, a home run and three RBI in Tuesday's loss to the Royals.
Analysis
The veteran DH has started three of the last four games as he gets showcased for a potential trade, and Ozuna has done his part to boost his value by going yard in back-to-back contests. Four of his 15 homers on the season have come in July, but he only has eight total hits on the month, batting .167 (8-for-48) over 17 games.

Ozuna struggled to a .687 OPS in 2022 and appeared to be in danger of being cut out of Atlanta's regular lineup last season after going 5-for-59 in April, but he quickly turned things around and finished 2023 with a career-high 40 homers, 100 RBI, 84 runs and a .274/.346/.558 slash line in 144 contests. That was good for a 139 wRC+, which is a vast improvement on his 85 wRC+ over the previous two years. His 2023 production was supported by a career-high 16.6 percent barrel rate and 49.0 percent hard-hit rate, which helped lead to a .284 xBA and .583 xSLG. Ozuna almost exclusively served as Atlanta's designated hitter, as he made only two appearances (one start) in the outfield, so his positional eligibility will be limited to begin 2024. That'll hardly matter to fantasy managers if he's able to replicate his 2023 campaign, but year-to-year consistency has never been the 33-year-old's forte. Ozuna's results last season were supported by strong underlying numbers and sets him up for another productive campaign in 2024, but he still carries some risk for fantasy managers given his boom-or-bust trends the past few years.

Says he's over hip issue
Ozuna said after Sunday's 4-2 loss to the Yankees that he's no longer bothered by the sore hip that was affecting his performance earlier in the season, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports. "It was my hip earlier this season, but now I feel fantastic," Ozuna said. "I just lost my confidence at the plate. I just lost my timing, and that's what I've been battling. As soon as I get my timing back, everything's coming like last year and the year before."

Movement in trade market
There is "movement developing" around Ozuna's trade market, Buster Olney of ESPN reports.
Analysis
With 10-and-5 rights, Ozuna has the right to veto any potential trade. However, the feeling seems to be that he's willing to accept a deal now that he's no longer an everyday player in Atlanta. Olney says at least one team has had internal discussions about working out a trade for Ozuna, but it's unclear which club that is. Ozuna is slashing .233/.361/.393 with 14 home runs over 96 games this season and is an impending free agent.
