The Miami Heat defeated the host Memphis Grizzlies, 100-97, at FedEx Forum on Friday. This game was competitive throughout, as it took six ties and 11 lead changes to determine a winner. In fact, neither team led by more than 11 points, as it was within a seven-point margin for the entirety of the second half. Bench production was the difference for Miami, as they outscored Memphis' bench, 52-23. Rebounding was also critical, with the Heat outrebounding the Grizzlies. 50-34. Ball movement was also huge, with Miami recording 30 assists and Memphis handing out just 21 on their end. The Heat (12-16) were led by Josh Richardson, as he tallied 18 points, five rebounds and seven assists. Kelly Olynyk was huge off the bench, providing 18 points, five rebounds and five assists. Tyler Johnson also played well off the bench, amassing 17 points, five rebounds and four assists. The Grizzlies (16-12) were led by Mike Conley, as he accrued 22 points, three rebounds, eight assists, two steals and three blocks. Garrett Temple totaled 15 points, four rebounds and three assists. Jaren Jackson Jr. tallied 15 points, four rebounds and two steals while Marc Gasol finished with 14 points, seven rebounds and five assists. On deck for Memphis is a home matchup versus the Houston Rockets on Saturday. As for Miami, they travel to play the New Orleans Pelicans on Sunday for their next fixture.
