The Golden State Warriors defeated the host Sacramento Kings, 130-125, at Golden 1 Center on Friday evening.
The contest got out to a wild start, as the Warriors outscored the Kings, 42-38, to make for a very high-scoring first quarter. The Warriors kept up the pace in the second, but the Kings had a tougher time keeping up, as they trailed, 76-64, at halftime. The Warriors stayed ahead through the entire third quarter, but the Kings made a run in the final minutes to cut the deficit to just six, heading into the final frame. The Kings carried the momentum into the fourth, and pulled ahead to a 112-105 lead four minutes into the quarter. They held their lead and pushed it to 10, with three minutes left in the contest. However, the Warriors flipped the switch and closed the game on a 17-2 run, to sink the feisty home team.
Stephen Curry led the Warriors with 35 points, seven rebounds, six assists and three steals, in 36 minutes. Kevin Durant followed up with 33 points, eight rebounds and eight assists, while Klay Thompson tallied 27 points, nine rebounds, three assists and one steal. The Warriors shot 45 percent from the field, including 15-of-41 from long range.
Meanwhile, De'Aaron Fox led the Kings with 25 points, nine assists, six rebounds and two steals, in 34 minutes. Buddy Hield followed up with 27 points, four rebounds and two assists, while Willie Cauley-Stein tallied 22 points, 11 rebounds, three assists and one block.
The Kings (15-13) will look to bounce back as they take on the Mavericks in Dallas on Sunday. The Warriors (20-10) play host to the Grizzlies on Monday.
