The Boston Celtics defeated the visiting Atlanta Hawks, 129-108, at TD Garden on Friday. This marks Boston's eighth-straight win, as they won this game in dominating fashion. A 42-19 first quarter really set the tone, as the Celtics never trailed from there. In addition, Boston led by at least 10 points for the entirety of the second half and by at least 20 for the whole of the fourth quarter. The Celtics ended up shooting 48 percent from the field, 49 percent from three-point range and 90 percent from the free-throw line while holding the Hawks to 42 percent from the field, 42 percent from long range and 63 percent from the charity stripe. Boston did a ton of damage down low too, outscoring Atlanta in the paint, 48-32. The Hawks (6-22) were led by Kevin Huerter, as he tallied 19 points, two rebounds, three assists and three steals. Kent Bazemore amassed 13 points, three rebounds, seven assists and two steals. John Collins totaled 11 points and 14 boards. Alex Len and Vince Carter both reached double figures in scoring off the bench. The Celtics (18-10) were led by Kyrie Irving, as he collected 24 points, five rebounds, five assists and four steals. Jayson Tatum accrued 22 points, three rebounds and two steals. Marcus Morris generated 20 points and six boards. Gordon Hayward led the bench with 19 points and five assists. On deck for Boston is a road matchup versus the Detroit Pistons on Saturday. As for Atlanta, they're off until Sunday when they travel to face the Brooklyn Nets.
