Anderson agreed to a long-term contract Saturday with Turkish club Darussafaka, international basketball writer David Pick reports.
ANALYSIS
After a one-year layover in Lithuania, Anderson returned to the NBA to suit up for the Kings in 2015-16, appearing in 51 games and averaging 3.5 points and 1.7 rebounds in 14.1 minutes per game. The 27-year-old likely would have struggled to land a guaranteed contract had he decided to pursue opportunities in the NBA this offseason as a free agent, so he opted for some more financial security by heading to Turkey, where he'll be coached by former Cavaliers head man David Blatt. Anderson's decision to head back overseas could spell the end of his NBA playing days.

As a four-year veteran in the NBA, Anderson saw his biggest opportunity as a professional come as a starter for the Sixers last season. He averaged 29 minutes, 10.1 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 1.9 assists. Anderson shot 43 percent from the field, 73 percent from the line, and 33 percent from distance in 80 games as a Sixer. His primary asset is his versatility as a wing, playing both shooting guard and small forward for Philly in 2013-14. Anderson's glaring weakness is his inefficiency from distance, showing an erratic three-point percentage from season to season that vacilates between amazing and putrid. Anderson will likely be behind Omri Casspi and Marco Belinelli in the Kings rotation and will have to fight Caron Butler for any remaining minutes in 2015-16.
Anderson was waived by the Rockets in the offseason and found his way to a non-guaranteed contract with the Sixers shortly after. While he will need to earn a spot on the roster in training camp, the Sixers' lack of depth at the shooting guard position will be favorable to him. Still, his fantasy potential this season is limited.
Anderson spent time in the D-League last season and is unlikely to play a significant role with the Spurs this season.
Anderson gives the Spurs another scorer out of the backcourt. He averaged 22.3 points per game for Oklahoma State in a competitive Big 12 and grabbed an impressive 5.8 boards per contest as well. He faces an uphill battle for playing time in San Antonio though, especially as a rookie learning coach Gregg Popovich’s system. Anderson has potential, but he’ll spend this year paying his dues.
