A second-round pick in 2019, Horton-Tucker appeared in six games for the Lakers during his rookie season. The Iowa State product totaled 34 points, seven rebounds, six assists and eight steals in 81 total minutes. Horton-Tucker made his NBA debut on Dec. 8 against the Timberwolves, playing two minutes and recording one assist. He scored his first NBA points in an August 6 seeding-game matchup against the Rockets, finishing with 10 points, four steals and two boards in 19 minutes. He notched a season-high 14 points in the regular season finale against the Kings on Aug. 13. Horton-Tucker made his NBA postseason debut in Game 4 against Houston in the second round, posting five points, two rebounds and two steals in seven minutes. In Game 5, Horton-Tucker played 10 minutes and had nine points and three rebounds.
