Cabrera was extradited from Brazil to his native country of Argentina on Tuesday while he faces assault charges from three former partners, the
Associated Press reports.
ANALYSIS
The 51-year-old hasn't been a regular on the PGA Tour for more than a half decade, but his victories at the U.S. Open (in 2007) and Masters (in 2009) had made him eligible to compete at both tournaments. Cabrera last appeared on the Tour at the 2019 Masters Tournament, and his ongoing legal issues ensure that his absence from competition will continue at the U.S. Open at Torrey Pines later this month.
