Homa fell into a share of fifth place after his two-under 69 in the final round of the John Deere Classic.
ANALYSIS
It's been no secret that the last 12 months or so have been quite difficult on the golf course for Homa, but we saw some flashes of the former top-10 ranked player from just a couple years ago this week. Homa was around the lead all week and looked like he was going to take this thing after making birdie on three of the first four holes. There was some sloppy play after that, however, and he was forced to settle for a T5, two shots back of the playoff. Homa ranked sixth in SG: Off-the-Tee, 15th in SG: Approach and T2 in GIR's for the week. There's a lot of positives there for a player that has been really struggling with his ball-striking all season. Homa is now inside the top-100 in the FedExCup standings and hoping to make a late-season charge.
