Mickelson fired a six-under 65 in the final round at LIV Golf Virginia to finish in a four-way tie for fourth.
ANALYSIS
Mickelson was seven-under through the first two rounds, and he found himself near the top of the leaderboard on Championship Sunday after carding five birdies over the first 12 holes. He dropped a shot on the 15th, but Mickelson turned back the clock on the par-4 17th with a vintage chip shot that found its way into the hole for birdie. The HyFlyers GC captain wrapped things up nicely with a birdie on the 18th to capture his second top-5 finish at a LIV Golf tournament this season. Mickelson will have some momentum behind him heading into the U.S. Open this weekend, the only major he has not won in his storied career.
