Johnson, recipient of the first Charlie Sifford exemption, missed the cut at the Northern Trust Open by three shots (70-74).
ANALYSIS
Johnson was long and accurate off the tee (Avg. 293 yds and 68% accuracy) but struggled in hitting the greens, 47%, which minimized birdie chances. His putts-per-round at 25.5 was very good. He appears to be in the "promising" class along with talented young players. He should be encouraged considering the cut was at one-under par. The Charlie Sifford exemption applies to minority players who have demonstrated outstanding playing talent.
