NHL Playoff Observations: WTF Wednesday?

Just a few things that caught my eye:

  • Annti Raanta and Jeff Zatkoff are the keys to their team's success. Any fans in either city going to sleep this week? #GoalieDrama.
  • Nikita Kucherov -- Tampa's next captain? Discuss.

  • I wonder how much Raanta threw up in his mouth when he realized it was Sidney Crosby taking that second-period stretch pass. #PerfectShot.
  • St. Louis hasn't advanced past the second round since 2000-01 and they won't again this season. Blow it up.
  • Read his lips. "I can't see right now." Will Henrik Lundqvist's eye injury finally be the tipping point that gets those stupid cat-eye goalie cages banned? Seriously.
  • Brian Elliott must be color blind. How else can you explain his inability to stay in the blue paint? Tip: use your posts to gauge where you should be, Mr. Elliot. Not the face-off circles. K?
  • The bell is tolling on Pavel Datsyuk's final quest for the Cup. Big Ben's bell. Datsyuk had almost 20 per cent of the Wings shots Wednesday, but nothing to show for them. Ben Bishop was brilliant.
  • Speaking of brilliant. Look no further than my boy Jonathan Toews. You can't get much better than Captain Serious.
  • Dylan Larkin is the fastest man in the NHL. But Andreas Athanasiou is even faster. He hits the nitrous oxide and he's gone. But help me understand how a guy who's best off the rush fits into a team built around possession. Just saying.
  • Victor Hedman is entering Drew Doughty territory. Wow.
  • Alex Killorn vs. three defenders equals the game-winning goal. The odor sure is still lingering on that one.
  • Twitter gives a voice to people who probably shouldn't have one. Am I wrong?
