NHL Playoff Hockey Observations -- Friday

Just a few things that caught my eye:

  • Jordan Leopold gave up five inches and 40 lbs on Andy Sutton. But isn't an elbow an elbow? Dollars to donuts, there will be no suspension despite the crackdown on hits to the head.
  • Damn, those Desert Dawgs seem for real. The winner of this series could go all the way to the Finals. And that team may not be the Wings.
  • Did you know the bacterium used to ferment Limburger cheese is the same one that's responsible for human body odor? Just ask Antti Niemi. Or Evgeni Nabokov
  • Best save of the night? Sidney Crosby. And what's with all the five-hole goals any way?
  • I think the Sharks have the yips; the Brandon Yips, that is. What a performance.
  • Who played the most entertaining hockey on Friday night? Six American teams. This is what should have happened post-Olympics, not that nauseating clog-and-punch we had to endure.
  • So, who would you rather see asking questions during game breaks? Lindsay Soto or Pierre Maguire? Quite a different aesthetic, don't you think?
  • I wonder how octopus smells in the desert... better or worse than Limburger and onion on rye?
