DFS College Basketball: Friday Preview

DFS College Basketball: Friday Preview

This article is part of our DFS College Basketball series.

Friday's College Basketball action includes games from the Atlantic 10, Big East, Big Ten and SEC as part of a four game DraftKings slate that is highlighted by their $12 Heating Up Contest with $5,000 to first. Meanwhile, FanDuel also has a Friday slate this week, featuring their $5.55 All American with a $2,000 top payout. Both sites kick off at 5 p.m. EST.

Top Players

Vince Williams, G, VCU ($7,500 DK)

Williams had his best fantasy game of the season in VCU's earlier matchup against Richmond in which he came up just two assists shy of a triple-double. He's been the lone bright spot on a struggling Rams offense, shooting 39 percent from deep with over two threes made per game. With VCU playing a small lineup, he's also been active on the glass and is averaging over five fantasy ppg on the defensive end.

Posh Alexander, G, St. John's ($7,300 DK, $7,700 FD)

Alexander was eased back Wednesday after missing the previous two games with an ankle injury, playing 25 minutes off the bench for the first time this season. He's expected to rejoin the starting lineup in favor of Dylan Addae-Wusu, just in time for a matchup against mediocre Butler. Prior to his injury he was priced just under $9k as he's been enjoying a breakthrough sophomore campaign, shooting 50 percent from the floor and leading St. John's in assists.

Middle Tier

Bryce McGowens, G, Nebraska ($6,900 DK, $6,100 FD)

McGowens has been thrown right into the fire as a freshman, accounting for a 25.6 percent usage rate -- a high number for someone at just a slightly above average salary. He's reached double figures in each of the last seven games and has shown his fantasy upside with four 20+ point performances during that stretch. McGowens shouldn't see much resistance at home against a Maryland squad that has lost five in a row.

Ronnie DeGray, F, Missouri ($5,400 DK, $5,200 FD)

DeGray has been one of the few bright spots offensively for the Tigers, excelling in his role as the team's sixth man with three double-digit scoring games over his last five. He's shooting 60 percent from inside the arc this season and has stepped up on the defensive end as of late with six steals and a pair of blocks over the last three games. Mississippi State has been weaker on the defensive end as well, allowing 73.7 points over their last three.

Values

Qudus Wahab, F, Maryland ($4,500 DK, $3,700 FD)

The Nebraska/Maryland game features the highest over/under on the slate as Nebraska plays at the 10th fastest pace of any team in the country. They've allowed at least 85 points in three of their last four games, creating a lot of value on the Terrapins side, especially if Eric Ayala (game-time decision) is unable to play for a second straight game. Wahab is shooting 56 percent on the season and has been the team's most efficient rebounder.

Cam Carter, G, Mississippi St. ($4,300 DK, $3,000 FD)

Carter received his first start of the season with Rocket Watts out with an arm injury, and he responded with a season-high 15 points. The freshman has looked good in limited action this season, showing range from three and being active in the passing game. He has plenty of upside at an inexpensive salary in a great matchup against a sub-.500 Missouri squad.
