The Sunday college basketball slate features contests on DraftKings and FanDuel beginning at 12 p.m. EST. DraftKings has a four-game slate, while FanDuel has just a three-game slate. The slate features a pair of ranked teams and is headlined by Florida hosting No. 20 Florida State. Seton Hall boasts the highest projected point total with 79 points. DraftKings features their $10 Big Jam Contest with a $400 top prize, while FanDuel has the $7 All-American with $200 to first. Let's get on to the action.
Top Players
Colin Castleton, Florida ($7,600 DK, $8,300 FD)
The 6-foot-11 forward did it all against Elon in the season opener with 18 points, six blocks, five rebounds, four assists and one steal. While his team draws a tougher matchup Sunday against Florida State, the Gators are going to rely on Castleton's height and strength under the glass. He likely won't sustain his 41.9 percent usage rate, but he is one of Florida's main scoring options and leading rebounders. In addition, Castleton provides multiple blocks per game, averaging 2.2/game in his 2020-2021 campaign.
Jordan Dingle, Pennsylvania ($6,400 DK)
The former Ivy League Rookie of the Year has one of the best ceilings Sunday, and his salary does not reflect it. He has scored at least 20 points in both of the Quakers' games this season. Despite getting blown out in both games, Dingle is averaging 1.1 DK points/min with a 38.4 percent usage rate. In addition, he's attempted eight three pointers in both games. This is a lesser-known matchup on the slate, so less people will be attracted to picking him. Dingle could take advantage of an easier matchup Sunday against Bucknell and provide one of the top values on the slate.
Middle Tier
Kennedy Chandler, Tennessee ($6,300 DK, $6,800 FD)
Tennessee has another favorable matchup against E. Tennessee State, and the offense should run through Chandler. He is a five-star freshman and the most talented player in this game. In his college debut Wednesday, he added 20 points, four assists and one rebound in just 22 minutes. In addition, he had a team-high 27.2 percent usage rate in the season opener. Chandler should only get better with more experience and playing time.
Tyrese Samuel, Seton Hall ($5,800 DK, 5,600 FD)
As mentioned above, Seton Hall has the highest projected point total on the slate, and Samuel offers the most value on this team. The junior is looking to take a step forward in a bigger role this season after averaging 5.4 points/game and 3.3 rebounds/game in 17 min/game last season. It's hard to go off one game where they blew out Fairleigh Dickinson by 43, but Samuel scored 41.3 DK points in 27 minutes in the season opener. Despite coming off the bench, he had the second-most minutes and the highest usage rate. He had a team-high 19 points, 11 rebounds and four blocks. They face Yale in what should be another easy win for them.
Values
David Sloan, East Tennessee State ($5,200 DK, $5,300 FD)
Sloan's low price comes with the idea that he is playing in a bad matchup against a good Tennessee defense. With that being said, someone has to score points for E. Tennessee State and he is their top option on offense. In their loss to Appalachian State, Sloan had a team-high 15 points and eight assists in 29 minutes. Even if the Buccaneers are held to under 60 points, Sloan can reach double-digits and lead the team in assists, providing plenty of value at this price range.
Xander Rice, Bucknell ($4,900 DK)
Rice is incredibly cheap for the amount of playing time he gets, and it's likely due to having low exposure on a team like Bucknell. He and teammate Andrew Funk tied for a team-high 14 points and 26.7 percent usage rate in the season opener. Funk played just one more minute than Rice and is $1,600 more expensive than him. Rice is coming off a season where he averaged over 10 points/game. If he plays around 30 minutes like he projects, he will have plenty of time to exceed his value.
