Remainder of season canceled
GNew Mexico State
February 12, 2023
The remainder of New Mexico State's 2022-23 season has been canceled, according to ESPN.com.
ANALYSIS
A police report was filed against three New Mexico State players for false imprisonment, harassment and counts of criminal sexual conduct after repeated hazing to one of their teammates. The cancellation will eliminate five games the Aggies were supposed to play from Feb. 5 to March 3. The team will finish this ongoing season with a 9-15 record, 2-10 against Western Athletic Conference teams. It is unclear when exactly the Aggies' basketball program will return. At the moment, the earliest New Mexico State can be back is the 2023-24 NCAA season.
