Johnson announced Monday that he would transfer to St. Mary's, Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports reports.
ANALYSIS
Johnson entered the NCAA's transfer portal shortly after Mick Cronin departed Cincinnati in May. In his lone season with the Bearcats, Johnson averaged 2.0 points and 1.2 rebounds in 6.9 minutes across 32 games. The 6-foot-2 guard should push for more playing time at St. Mary's, though it's unclear if he'll receive a waiver that would afford him immediate eligibility. He'll likely pursue such a waiver, perhaps hoping that Cronin's departure will prompt the NCAA to look at his case with some leniency.
