Jeffries' (knee) father, Corey, confirmed Monday that his son his receiving feedback from the NBA's undergraduate advisory committee but still intends to return to Memphis for his sophomore season, John Martin of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Jeffries was limited to 19 games (13 starts) as a true freshman this past season, averaging 10.8 points, 4.3 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.1 blocks in 27.1 minutes before missing Memphis' final 11 contests with a partially torn PCL in his left knee. The 6-foot-7 forward is expected to be back to full health well in advance of the 2020-21 campaign, and he should be primed to fill a key role once again for the Tigers as a sophomore. Memphis lost one of its top bench contributors from last season in Tyler Harris to the transfer portal Sunday, and star big man Precious Achiuwa remains a candidate to leave school for the 2020 NBA Draft, though he has yet to officially declare his intentions.
