Howard was granted a waiver by the NCAA on Wednesday, making him eligible to play immediately at Georgia Tech, Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports reports.
ANALYSIS
Howard left the Georgia program in March, shortly after wrapping up his freshman season with the Bulldogs. He appeared in 24 games (two starts), averaging just 1.3 points and 1.5 rebounds in 7.4 minutes per contest. After Howard committed to Georgia Tech earlier in the offseason, the NCAA apparently looked favorably on his case for a waiver. He'll now be able to compete for a role right away in the frontcourt after the Yellow Jackets lost starter James Banks to graduation.
