Xavier Hutchinson
Wide ReceiverWR
2021 Fantasy Outlook
Hutchinson was a pleasant surprise in 2020 with a team-leading 64 catches for 771 yards and four touchdowns on 92 targets. That production led to Hutchinson being named the Big 12's Offensive Newcomer of the year. More importantly, the senior receiver became quarterback Brock Purdy's number one target in the passing game which should translate in 2021. Hutchinson had at least five targets in nine games, including a season-high 10 catches on 15 targets for 114 yards against Oklahoma. Iowa State has 19 of 22 starters returning for a team that should contend for the Big 12 Title and put up significant offensive production as they did in 2020 at 436.3 yards per game (34th in the nation). Season-high 14 targets in loss
December 20, 2020
Hutchinson recorded a season-high 10 catches for 114 yards on 14 targets in Saturday's 27-21 loss to Oklahoma in the Big 12 Championship game.
Similar to how most of the season has gone, Hutchinson dominated the target share for his team in the Big 12 title game. The 14 targets were a season-high and the seventh time this year he has commanded eight or more targets. It's been a breakout season for the junior with 60 catches for 726 yards and four touchdowns on 83 targets. Iowa State will likely play in a significant bowl game as a highly ranked team after their loss to Oklahoma.
