Leaves school for NFL
January 1, 2024
Edwards announced Monday via social media that he will forgo his remaining eligibility at Georgia to enter the 2024 NFL Draft.
ANALYSIS
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic's affect on the 2020 season, Edwards had an extra year of eligibility he could have used in 2024, but he'll wrap up his college career after four years in Georgia. Edwards took on the primary duties out of the backfield in 2023, racking up 880 rushing yards and 13 scores on 165 totes and adding 20 catches for 197 yards.

2023 Fantasy Outlook
Daijun Edwards is the leading returning rusher for the Bulldogs, having accumulated 769 yards and seven touchdowns on the ground last season. However, he will vie with the explosive Kendall Milton for touches out of the backfield. Milton averaged seven yards per tote and scored eight times, despite taking almost half as many carries as Edwards. Neither back was very effective as a pass catcher last season, and that is one area where the Bulldogs may struggle to replace the 43 catches and 504 yards from Kenny McIntosh, who is now in the NFL. Bruising sophomore Brandon Robinson also remains in the fold, as he took 68 carries for 330 yards and three touchdowns in his first campaign in Athens. Incoming freshman Roderick Robinson II rounds out the backfield for the Bulldogs; Roderick is the biggest back of the bunch at 6-1, 230-lbs. Edwards should get the early-down carries, but it would be foolish to expect him to dominate the touches with so many other talented backs on the roster.
