Finds end zone in defeat
Cain tallied four carries for four yards and one touchdown during Sunday's 45-24 loss to Florida State.
ANALYSIS
The touchdown salvaged the day for Cain, who split carries with Josh Williams, who gained 44 yards on four carries for the game. Quarterback Jayden Daniels dominated the ball in this contest, even in terms of rushing attempts. Expect both Cain and Williams to see more work against lowly Grambling State next weekend.

Cain is a Penn State transfer who will vie chiefly with Jon Emery for touches out of the backfield this season. Emery was deemed academically ineligible for the 2021 campaign and ultimately never saw the field for the Tigers, though was a highly touted recruit not so long ago. Meanwhile, Cain rushed 106 times for 350 yards, averaging a dismal 3.3 yards per tote for the Nittany Lions. He started the season off with touchdowns in each of the first three games, but sputtered for the remainder of the year, ultimately losing touches to Keyvone Lee. Sophomores Corey Kiner and Armoni Goodwin also received opportunities as freshmen at LSU last year, so the backfield situation is far from settled.
