With Dominic Richardson transferring to Baylor, Gordon will be the featured back for the Cowboys. Considering Oklahoma State will also roll out a new quarterback in Michigan transfer Alan Bowman, it’s realistic to think they will lean heavily on Gordon, at least early in the season. The true freshman had his best game in the regular season finale with 136 yards and a touchdown on 17 carries against West Virginia. Overall, it was a successful season for the youngster as he averaged 5.0 yards per carry on 62 carries. Caps off elite season in bowl
Gordon recorded 27 carries for 118 yards and one touchdown and gathered in two of three targets for four yards during Wednesday's 31-23 victory versus Texas A&M.
ANALYSIS
Gordon's effort to close out 2024 was basically par for the course for him, if not a slight downgrade from his usual production after taking over the workhorse role in Week 4. Despite seeing minimal action in the first three games (21 carries total), Gordon finished the year with the third-most carries (285) in college football behind Kimani Vidal (297) and Tahj Brooks (290), the most rushing yards (1,732) and second-most rushing touchdowns (21). He's announced he will return to Stillwater in 2024, and Gordon will likely be the first back off the board in many leagues.
