Fantasy Football Draft Strategy: My Game Plan for 2017

While there are many ways to win at fantasy football, I'm a big believer that you need a game plan. With all the great resources to research players, it's hard to beat other owners on talent evaluation alone. I feel you can gain an edge by looking at the larger market and statistical trends to choose which direction to take your fantasy roster. You chose a path for your team with the position you spend the most resources on. Take a QB in the first round (or spend the most money on that position in an auction) and you'll be behind on gathering WR and RB. Take Rob Gronkowski at TE in the first round and you're behind on QB, WR and RB.

The key decision in the first round of your draft is whether to take a running back or wide receiver. If your league starts two quarterbacks, has a superflex (that allows for a quarterback) or has some sort of non-standard scoring rules, then the equation may be different. If it's a PPR or standard
