2025 Fantasy Outlook
Pitts has consistently disappointed since setting expectations sky-high with 1,026 receiving yards as a rookie after the Falcons drafted him fourth overall in 2021. He had just 356 yards over 10 games in his second season, followed by 667 in 2023 and 602 in 2024 while playing all 17 games both years. If you’re looking for silver linings from his 2024 campaign, Pitts set a career high with four touchdowns (having started with one as a rookie and tacking another onto his total each year), in addition to having his best YPT mark (8.1) since that impressive rookie season. Pitts will turn just 25 years old in October, but fantasy managers understandably are wary of buying in after being burned the last three years. What's more, Pitts’ early returns with QB Michael Penix left a lot to be desired. In the three games the 2024 first-round pick started last season, Pitts caught just seven passes for 66 yards and one TD. Read Past Outlooks
Four catches in Week 9
Pitts caught four of seven targets for 38 yards in Sunday's 24-23 loss to the Patriots.
ANALYSIS
Drake London and Bijan Robinson combined for 17 catches, 168 receiving yards and three London receiving touchdowns, but Pitts was the best of the rest, as Darnell Mooney contributed Atlanta's only reception by a player other than London, Robinson or Pitts. After catching all nine of his targets from Kirk Cousins in the Week 8 loss to the Dolphins, Pitts was back to working with Michael Penix, who returned from a one-game absence due to a knee injury. Pitts has at least three receptions in every game this season heading into a Week 10 meeting with the Colts in Berlin.

Pitts had 1,026 receiving yards in 2021, becoming the first tight end since Mike Ditka in 1961 to reach 1,000 yards as a rookie. In two subsequent seasons, the 2021 fourth overall pick had just 1,023 receiving yards combined, struggling with knee injuries and poor QB play (Marcus Mariota, Desmond Ridder and Taylor Heinicke) in run-heavy offenses coached by Arthur Smith. Fortunately for Pitts, big changes are coming. The Falcons canned Smith in favor of Raheem Morris, hired former Rams assistant Zac Robinson as their offensive coordinator and then signed QB Kirk Cousins to a four-year contract. Atlanta even added QB Michael Penix with the eighth overall pick, creating a solid backup plan in case Cousins isn't the same after last year's Achilles' tear or otherwise ages faster than hoped for. Cousins mostly will be tasked with getting the ball to Pitts, WR Drake London and RB Bijan Robinson, as the Falcons have minimal receiving depth unless WR Darnell Mooney can rebound from an ugly 2023 in Chicago. It's a good situation for the 6-foot-6 tight end to pile up targets, and getting him more involved near the end zone should be a priority for Atlanta’s new coaching staff.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Expanded role sans London?
With Drake London's game status having been updated to questionable Saturday, per Terrin Waack of the Falcons' official site, Pitts could be in line for more targets in the passing game against the Dolphins on Sunday if London is made inactive due to his hip injury.
ANALYSIS
London's status for Week 8 is in jeopardy now that he's listed as questionable. If London is unable to play or operates on a snap count, Pitts and Darnell Mooney would pick up most of the slack in the passing attack. Atlanta is also expected to start Kirk Cousins at quarterback while Michael Penix recovers from a knee contusion. Cousins was the Falcons' starter through the first 14 regular-season games of 2024, and over that span Pitts tallied 40 catches on 64 targets for 536 yards and three touchdowns.
