2026 Fantasy Outlook
There's a strong case to make for Robinson as not just the fantasy RB1, but the 1.01 pick in most formats. As much as players like Jahmyr Gibbs and Christian McCaffrey are capable of claiming the RB1 title themselves, Robinson's combination of huge workload (including pass catching), elite efficiency and uncommon durability give him the highest combination of floor and ceiling. With Tyler Allgeier off to Arizona and a strong offensive line still in place back in Atlanta, Robinson's workload is locked in around a league-leading level. He compounds that volume with explosive production as both a runner and pass catcher, averaging 4.9 YPC and 6.7 YPT for his career. New Falcons coach Kevin Stefanski will probably want to use backup RB Brian Robinson at times, but Robinson may quickly prove a downgrade on Allgeier, who poached 143 carries and eight rushing touchdowns last year, including 10 carries inside the 5-yard line and 19 carries inside the 10. With standout power, 4.46 speed and polished pass-catching skills, Robinson should continue to provide elite per-touch efficiency while boasting better volume/durability projections than Gibbs or McCaffrey. Robinson was held without a touchdown after scoring four times over the previous two games, but he managed to top 100 scrimmage yards for the fourth time in five games. The star running back was far more effective than backup Brian Robinson, who also had four touchdowns over the previous two games but turned seven carries and one target into just 16 yards against the Ravens. Bijan has racked up 732 scrimmage yards and five total TDs heading into a Week 6 home game against the Bears. Michael Penix (ribs) was hurt late in Sunday night's loss to Baltimore, so it remains to be seen whether Penix or Tua Tagovailoa will start under center for Atlanta against Chicago.

Robinson was a rock in 2024 and demonstrated league-leading fantasy upside, crossing the rare combined threshold of 300 carries and 60 receptions, with plus efficiency both as a runner and receiver. That he accomplished this even in a somewhat dysfunctional Atlanta offense makes it worth pondering what Robinson might do if the Falcons were to improve. Even if things don't get better with Michael Penix at quarterback, Robinson already demonstrated in 2024 that he doesn't need good luck to compete for the RB1 distinction in fantasy. Robinson has produced with uncommon efficiency and elusiveness despite facing crowded boxes, pushing for 5.0 YPC even while having just five carries of more than 20 yards. Robinson has yet to log a 40-yard carry in the NFL — a trend that seems unlikely to persist given the abundance of other explosive indicators. He has the speed to split safeties (4.46 40) and the size (5-foot-11, 215 pounds) to run them over, and he's already shown a volume ceiling that few backs can match. Adding a few more big plays on similar volume might be enough to make Robinson the top scorer for fantasy in any given year.

Expecting more open running room in 2026
Robinson said Thursday that he's noticed an emphasis from the Falcons' new coaching staff in scheming up ways to create running room and help him reach the second level more quickly, Will McFadden of the team's official site reports. "We have a lot of different variations," Robinson said. "But, for me, it's to create space for yourself. [Offensive coordinator Tommy Rees] does a really good job of being intentional in trying to get us to the second level as fast as possible because when we get to the second level, I feel like that's where we're super dangerous as runners."
