Catches on with Gang Green
The Jets signed Irwin to the practice squad Tuesday, Susanna Weir of the team's official site reports.
ANALYSIS
The 29-year-old wideout out of Stanford was unable to make the Jaguars' 53-man roster at the end of training camp, but he'll get another opportunity with the Jets on the practice squad. Irwin has appeared in 41 regular-season games since 2019 (23 of which came in 2023 and 2024 as a member of the Bengals) and has accumulated 46 catches (on 72 targets) for 601 yards and five touchdowns in his NFL career.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2024
2023
For the second year in a row, Irwin was pressed into action more than the Bengals had hoped due to injuries to Tee Higgins and Ja'Marr Chase, playing a career-high 412 offensive snaps. While Irwin is sure-handed and nice as a third or fourth option in the passing game, he's out of place when asked to do more, averaging 9.9 yards per target last season. Now that Tyler Boyd is gone, Irwin is a good bet to make the team, though he'll have to compete with rookie Jermaine Burton and second-year receivers Andrei Iosivas and Charlie Jones for targets.
