2025 Fantasy Outlook
Marks (5-foot-10, 207 pounds) might not have the anchor or strength to thrive on power concepts, but he could make his mark in the NFL as a pass catcher. He played more passing-down snaps in two years at Mississippi State than most running backs do in four years of college, and he then became a three-down back in his one season at USC, running for 1,133 yards at 5.7 yards per carry. As much as it's unlikely that Marks becomes a workhorse in the NFL, his path to rookie-year snaps got much easier when Joe Mixon struggled to recover from an offseason foot/ankle injury. Mixon is now ruled out for at least the first four games of the regular season, leaving Marks to compete with Nick Chubb, Dameon Pierce and Dare Ogunbowale for backifled snaps. Read Past Outlooks
RANKS
Elevated role in Week 2
Marks rushed three times for 14 yards and caught his only target for 37 yards in Monday's 20-19 loss to the Buccaneers.
ANALYSIS
Marks was bumped up the depth chart after veteran backup Dameon Pierce was made a healthy scratch ahead of Monday's kickoff. The 24-year-old Marks responded well by converting his four touches into 51 total yards backing up Nick Chubb (14-72-1 from scrimmage). Marks is unlikely to see his workload increase against the Jaguars on Sunday, but he is a name to keep an eye on if the 0-2 Texans continue to slide and decide to give the rookie an extended look later in the season.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Injuries to other RBs clear path
Marks could have a clear path to significant playing time out of the gate, as Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports that Joe Mixon is expected to face an extended absence and will be re-evaluated closer to the beginning of the regular season due to a foot injury.
ANALYSIS
Mixon is on the active/non-football injury list, while Dameon Pierce is on the active/PUP list due to an undisclosed injury, leaving Marks and Nick Chubb as Houston's top two healthy running backs in training camp. Chubb averaged just 3.3 yards per carry in 2024 after returning from a significant knee injury, so Marks is well positioned to take on a significant role out of the gate, and the rookie fourth-round pick from USC could even open his career atop the depth chart if Mixon's injury lingers into the regular season.
