Akeem Davis-Gaither

The Colts dealt Zaire Franklin this offseason and created one of the weakest linebacker groups in the league in the process. Davis-Gaither is one potential solution, as was the second-round selection of CJ Allen. The question for Davis-Gaither is one of opportunity and role vs. skill. Davis-Gaither should have a clear runway to playing time due to the lack of team depth at his position, which in turn would make him an appealing IDP option. On the other hand, the 2025 season provided a glimpse of how he handles an every-down role, or anything close to it, and the results left plenty to be desired. Davis-Gaither has missed tackles at a double-digit rate each of the last three seasons, and things were even worse when he was pushed into coverage. In that role, he allowed a 122.4 passer rating against, including five touchdowns. Davis-Gaither projects well, but his situation is among the most fragile in the league and training camp news will be pivotal to monitor before drafting him. Read Past Outlooks
