2025 Fantasy Outlook
Boswell led all kickers in fantasy scoring and made field goals last season, going 13-of-15 from 50-plus yards and making all his attempts (including PATs) inside 40 yards. He's been the Steelers' kicker since 2015 and now ranks fourth in career FG percentage (88.0), having made at least 90 percent of field-goal attempts seven times in 10 pro seasons. Volume has been less consistent in the second half of his career, with Boswell having finished 2023 at No. 19 among kickers in fantasy scoring despite playing all 17 games and missing just three kicks. The Steelers offense won't necessarily be good in 2025, but it should at least be closer to the 2024 version than the 2022-23 mess, considering OC Arthur Smith is a competent playcaller and has two of the league's top downfield threats at his disposal. Won't play Saturday
Boswell will not play in Saturday's preseason opener against the Jaguars while seeking a contract extension, Joe Rutter of TribLive.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Boswell is in the third year of his four-year, $20 million contract, and he is due to make $3.12 million and $3.22 million in 2025 and 2026, respectively. He has been one of the most accurate kickers since entering the NFL in 2015 and has connected on 90 percent or more of his field-goal attempts in five of the last six seasons. In 17 regular-season games in 2024, Boswell made a career-high 41 field goals (on 44 attempts, including 13-for-15 from 50-plus yards) while converting all 35 of his extra-point tries. Boswell's absence during practice has opened the door for undrafted rookie Ben Sauls to handle kicking duties during special-teams periods in practice, and the latter will serve as the Steelers' starting kicker Saturday.

Boswell is entering his 10th season as Pittsburgh's kicker, having produced six years with a FG percentage above 90 and two years south of 72 percent. Overall, he's sixth in career FG percentage (87.2), including 30 of 37 from 50-plus yards (81.1 percent) despite playing his home games in one of the less-friendly stadiums for kicking. Twenty-one of his 30 career makes from 50-plus yards came the past three seasons, but Boswell's fantasy value has nonetheless been marginal thanks to a lack of PAT volume (three straight years with fewer than 30 tries). The strong track record at least makes him a consideration for favorable matchups, with upside to be an every-week starter if the Pittsburgh offense breaks out of its long-term slump under OC Arthur Smith and QB Russell Wilson.

First with three six-FG games
Boswell became the first kicker in NFL history to convert six field goals in three different games in his career when he made all six field-goal attempts in Sunday's 18-16 win over the Ravens.
ANALYSIS
Two of those three games have come this season, as Boswell also joined John Carney in 1993 as the only kickers with two games of six-plus made field goals in one season. The 33-year-old Steelers kicker is enjoying an excellent campaign, having converted 29 of 30 field-goal attempts this season.
