Fantasy Football Rankings Week 7: Weekly Value Meter

Week 7 - Bye Weeks - BAL, BUF.

London Game: Rams vs. Jaguars

Welcome to the Weekly Value Meter Rankings. This is a guide to help you decide who to start and sit in a given week. It's is not a season-long ranking nor a draft guide, and it's also not really intended as a free agent guide. While I appreciate that you want my opinion on pickups, every league is different, and your decision on whether to add/drop a particular player might also be dictated by other factors than who is rated higher in a given week.

Here are my operating assumptions for the rankings:

- The RB/WR/TE position rankings are for PPR leagues.
- The Flex rankings are for Standard leagues.
- 1 point per 10 rushing/receiving yards.
- 1 point per 20 passing yards.
- 4 points per passing touchdowns.

These are the fantasy football rankings I use when I make my start/sit decisions. Please consult the rankings first before asking "Should I start Patrick Mahomes or Bryce Young?"

These are my particular rankings. If you want a second opinion elsewhere on the site, you can see our Weekly Projections.

Each week after Week 1, the first set of rankings will be posted late on Tuesday night. I will then do a set of updates before kickoff on Thursday, and again before kickoff on Sunday morning.

When setting your lineups, make sure to refer to the NFL inactives to ensure all of your players are set

I welcome debate on the rankings in the comments. Please keep it friendly.

Quarterbacks

1.*Jayden Daniels WAS at DAL
Note: On one hand, we don't know which of Daniels' pass-catchers will be available, and Daniels had a sloppy game on Monday night. On the other hand, he gets the Cowboys this week. I think getting the Cowboys will be the controlling factor.
2.*Patrick Mahomes KC vs. LV
Note: Mahomes was on fire against the Lions and now draws the Raiders' leaky secondary.
3.Dak Prescott DAL vs. WAS
4.Jared Goff DET vs. TB
5.Drake Maye NE at TEN
6.Jalen Hurts PHI at MIN
7.*Caleb Williams CHI vs. NO
Note: Williams threw for only 252 yards in the win over the Commanders, but that also was in part due to the weather and because the rushing game went so well.
8.*Baker Mayfield TB at DET
Note: Mayfield had another sterling performance against the Niners despite losing Emeka Egbuka early in this one. The Bucs with no receivers will face the Lions with no defensive backs on Monday night.
9.Daniel Jones IND at LAC
10.Jordan Love GB at ARI
11.Justin Herbert LAC vs. IND
12.*Bryce Young CAR at NYJ
Note: Young was smooth in the win over the Cowboys, with the one interception coming on a ball that bounced off of Tet McMillan's hands.
13.Michael Penix ATL at SF
14.*Matthew Stafford LA at JAX
Note: Stafford was disappointing against the diluted Ravens, and now most likely won't have Puka Nacua against the Jaguars this weekend.
15.*Bo Nix DEN vs. NYG
Note: The Broncos used an extremely game plan against the Jets and it nearly came back to bite them. If you project Nix's numbers from the first six games (1,277 yards, nine touchdowns and four interceptions) across the full season, they're similar to his rookie numbers, but they just feel worse coming off of this disappointing outing.
16.Sam Darnold SEA vs. HOU
17.*Mac Jones SF vs. ATL
Note: The Niners will evaluate teammate Brock Purdy (toe) on Wednesday to determine whether he can practice this week.
18.Trevor Lawrence JAC vs. LAR
19.*Jaxson Dart NYG at DEN
Note: Dart was great Thursday night against the Eagles, but I think he'll struggle against the Broncos' pass rush this week.
20.Aaron Rodgers PIT at CIN
21.C.J. Stroud HOU at SEA
22.*Justin Fields NYJ vs. CAR
Note: Fields will remain the quarterback this week, despite 'taking a step back' against the Broncos. He'll be without teammate Garrett Wilson this week and perhaps longer.
23.*Joe Flacco CIN vs. PIT
Note: Flacco was really rough in the first half, but the Bengals actually looked like a real offense in the second half at least.
24.*Jacoby Brissett ARZ vs. GB
Note: It might not be the worst thing for the Cardinals if Brissett got another start and let Kyler Murray fully heal his foot.
25.Geno Smith LV at KC
26.Spencer Rattler NO at CHI
27.*Tua Tagovailoa MIA at CLE
Note: Tagovailoa threw three interceptions in the loss to the Chargers, albeit one on the last play of the game, and then had a weird press conference after the game.
28.*Carson Wentz MIN vs. PHI
Note: Both Wentz (shoulder) and J.J. McCarthy (ankle) were able to practice Monday. It's not certain yet who will start for the Vikings.
29.*Cam Ward TEN vs. NE
Note: The Titans either punted or turned the ball over on their first six drives against the Raiders last week. Ward will have a new coach this week after the Titans fired Brian Callahan.
30.*Dillon Gabriel CLE vs. MIA
Note: Gabriel threw a whopping 52 passes against the Steelers, most of them short and intermediate passes.
31.*J.J. McCarthy MIN vs. PHI
Note: McCarthy (ankle) practiced Monday for the first time since suffering his injury in Week 2. The Vikings haven't yet named a starter for this game against the Eagles.
32.*Kyler Murray ARZ vs. GB
Note: Murray has a version of plantar fasciitis in his foot and might miss Week 7 - the practice results will let us know whether he can go or not against the Packers.
33.*Brock Purdy SF vs. ATL
Note: Purdy (toe) will be evaluated Wednesday to see whether he'll be able to practice this week. The Niners play on Sunday night this week, so a game-time decision scenario will be tricky.
34.Josh Allen BUF at
35.Lamar Jackson BAL at
36.Cooper Rush BAL at

Running Backs

1.Christian McCaffrey SF vs. ATL
2.Bijan Robinson ATL at SF
3.Jonathan Taylor IND at LAC
4.Saquon Barkley PHI at MIN
5.Jahmyr Gibbs DET vs. TB
6.*Quinshon Judkins CLE vs. MIA
Note: I think that the Browns went away from the run too soon last week, and also should have involved Judkins in the passing game more. I think that will get corrected against Miami.
7.Rico Dowdle CAR at NYJ
8.Josh Jacobs GB at ARI
9.De'Von Achane MIA at CLE
10.*Javonte Williams DAL vs. WAS
Note: For the second week in a row, the Panthers shut down an opposing RB, holding Williams to 29 yards on 13 carries.
11.Kyren Williams LA at JAX
12.Ashton Jeanty LV at KC
13.Cam Skattebo NYG at DEN
14.*Rachaad White TB at DET
Note: White gets another start this week, with Bucky Irving (shoulder) 'not in line to play' as declared by Todd Bowles on Monday.
15.Kenneth Walker SEA vs. HOU
16.J.K. Dobbins DEN vs. NYG
17.D'Andre Swift CHI vs. NO
18.Travis Etienne JAC vs. LAR
19.*Jacory Croskey-Merritt WAS at DAL
Note: Croskey-Merritt lost one fumble and was involved in a second one late in the loss to the Bears that was attributed (rightfully so) to Jayden Daniels.
20.Breece Hall NYJ vs. CAR
21.Kimani Vidal LAC vs. IND
22.Jordan Mason MIN vs. PHI
23.Jaylen Warren PIT at CIN
24.Alvin Kamara NO at CHI
25.Tony Pollard TEN vs. NE
26.Rhamondre Stevenson NE at TEN
27.*David Montgomery DET vs. TB
Note: Montgomery had a passing touchdown overturned on a procedural penalty.
28.Bam Knight ARZ vs. GB
29.Isiah Pacheco KC vs. LV
30.*Chase Brown CIN vs. PIT
Note: Brown barely out-snapped Samaje Perine, getting 33 snaps to 29 for Perine.
31.*Kareem Hunt KC vs. LV
Note: Hunt's playing time is starting to recede, and he even was out of the game at times at the goal line last week. It's worth noting that it appeared that Hunt was getting looked at by team trainers at one point in the game.
32.Tyler Allgeier ATL at SF
33.Kendre Miller NO at CHI
34.TreVeyon Henderson NE at TEN
35.Nick Chubb HOU at SEA
36.Zach Charbonnet SEA vs. HOU
37.Woody Marks HOU at SEA
38.*Kenneth Gainwell PIT at CIN
Note: Gainwell reverted to a backup role against the Browns, though it was a backup-plus role, with him getting six carries and six catches. Jaylen Warren sat out most of the fourth quarter, with Gainwell and Kaleb Johnson splitting the duties.
39.Michael Carter ARZ vs. GB
40.Bhayshul Tuten JAC vs. LAR
41.Hassan Haskins LAC vs. IND
42.Ollie Gordon MIA at CLE
43.RJ Harvey DEN vs. NYG
44.Emanuel Wilson GB at ARI
45.*Brian Robinson SF vs. ATL
Note: Robinson played only five offensive snaps in the loss to the Bucs.
46.Sean Tucker TB at DET
47.Tyrone Tracy NYG at DEN
48.Zavier Scott MIN vs. PHI
49.*Kyle Monangai CHI vs. NO
Note: With D'Andre Swift having a massive game, Monangai carried the ball just five times and had a nice catch for 25 yards.
50.Isaiah Davis NYJ vs. CAR
51.Tyjae Spears TEN vs. NE
52.Jeremy McNichols WAS at DAL
53.Trevor Etienne CAR at NYJ
54.Devin Singletary NYG at DEN
