Ham played through an ankle issue late in 2024, which ultimately required surgery, but the injury wasn't enough to break his four-year streak of playing in all 17 regular-season games. While the reliable fullback hasn't racked up 100 yards from scrimmage in a single season since 2021, he remains a valuable contributor on offense as a blocker.
Ham is a rarity in the NFL, a true blocking fullback. He had just four carries and 12 targets last year as he has a limited role in the offense. He's used almost exclusively as a blocker.
Ham is a rarity in the NFL, a true blocking fullback. He had just seven rushes last season despite playing 360 snaps on offense. He did have a career-high 17 receptions. While new head coach Kevin O'Connell has praised Ham, it seems like the pass-oriented coach will utilize a fullback less than prior years.
Ham switched from running back to fullback after spending the 2016 season on the practice squad. While he wasn't utilized consistently on offense, he still managed to record 204 offensive snaps on the season and adding an additional 290 snaps on special teams. Under contract through 2019, Ham should retain his role as fullback in 2018.
Ham spent last season the practice squad after playing running back in the preseason. He changed positions and will try to make the roster as a fullback this summer.
