Keaton Mitchell

22-Year-Old Running BackRB
Questionable
Injury Knee - ACL
Est. Return 8/1/2024
2023 Fantasy Outlook
An undrafted free agent out of East Carolina, Mitchell signed on with the Ravens this spring and it was an interesting fit that seemed to put him in position to crack the roster with a good camp. Mitchell has some legitimate talent; he averaged 6.9 yards per carry over his final two seasons at East Carolina (375 attempts) and was a threat in the passing game as well with 49 catches on 68 targets for 505 yards. Shortly before training camp, though, Baltimore added veteran Melvin Gordon to the backfield. Whereas Mitchell once looked like he only had to beat out Justice Hill for the final running back spot on the roster, now it would likely take some tough injury luck elsewhere in the backfield for Mitchell to open the year anywhere but the practice squad. He has the type of speed (4.37) and pass-catching ability to bolster some deep dynasty value, but his chances of making an impact in 2023 are minimal. Read Past Outlooks

Knee - ACL
March 13, 2024
Mitchell (knee) appears poised to work in a complementary role in the Baltimore backfield in 2024 after Derrick Henry agreed to a two-year contract with the Ravens on Tuesday, Brian Wacker of The Baltimore Sun reports.
ANALYSIS
Mitchell and Justice Hill now become the top backups to Henry, a four-time Pro Bowler and two-time NFL rushing leader, while J.K. Dobbins (Achilles) appears set to leave Baltimore in free agency and Gus Edwards is slated to join the Chargers. Both Mitchell and Hill boast speed and pass-catching chops, making them worthy complements to Henry's overpowering rushing style, though Hill has the benefit of not needing to work his way back from an ACL tear. General manager Eric DeCosta said in February that he's confident Mitchell will work his way back from injury and contribute during the 2024 season, according to Jonas Shaffer of TheBaltimoreBanner.com, but the timing of Mitchell's injury -- which he suffered in December -- makes his availability for Week 1 uncertain. Mitchell showcased elusiveness and big-play potential in limited action as a rookie, so if he can avoid losing his quick-twitch ability in the rehab process, he could prove to be a valuable contributor behind Henry, when healthy.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Hoping to play in 2024
RBBaltimore Ravens
March 26, 2024
Mitchell, recovering from a torn ACL, is hoping to return to the field in 2024, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Mitchell suffered the injury in Week 15, making his availability early in the new season a question mark. Even once he is able to retake the field, his role is uncertain after the Ravens signed Derrick Henry this offseason to presumably handle a big workload. If Mitchell looks healthy, he could be an intriguing option in 2024 after ripping off seven rushes of at least 20 yards on only 47 attempts in 2023, but he'll likely be battling for backup touches with Justice Hill.
