Week 9 - Bye Weeks - CLE, NYJ, PHI, TB.

Welcome to the Weekly Value Meter Rankings. This is a guide to help you decide who to start and sit in a given week. It's is not a season-long ranking nor a draft guide, and it's also not really intended as a free agent guide. While I appreciate that you want my opinion on pickups, every league is different, and your decision on whether to add/drop a particular player might also be dictated by other factors than who is rated higher in a given week.

Here are my operating assumptions for the rankings:

- The RB/WR/TE position rankings are for PPR leagues.
- The Flex rankings are for Standard leagues.
- 1 point per 10 rushing/receiving yards.
- 1 point per 20 passing yards.
- 4 points per passing touchdowns.

These are the fantasy football rankings I use when I make my start/sit decisions. Please consult the rankings first before asking "Should I start Patrick Mahomes or Bryce Young?"

These are my particular rankings. If you want a second opinion elsewhere on the site, you can see our Weekly Projections.

Each week after Week 1, the first set of rankings will be posted late on Tuesday night. I will then do a set of updates before kickoff on Thursday, and again before kickoff on Sunday morning.

When setting your lineups, make sure to refer to the NFL inactives to ensure all of your players are set to receive snaps.

Quarterbacks

1.Patrick Mahomes KC at BUF
2.Josh Allen BUF vs. KC
3.Dak Prescott DAL vs. ARI
4.*Lamar Jackson BAL at MIA
Note: Jackson was a full participant - and a real 'full participant' this time - in practice on Tuesday and is on track to start Thursday night in Miami.
5.Drake Maye NE vs. ATL
6.Caleb Williams CHI at CIN
7.Daniel Jones IND at PIT
8.Justin Herbert LAC at TEN
9.Matthew Stafford LA vs. NO
10.Jared Goff DET vs. MIN
11.*Jordan Love GB vs. CAR
Note: In a game where Love was brilliant, at one point connecting on 20 consecutive passes, he still left a couple of plays on the table. He gets a nice home matchup against the Panthers this week.
12.*Joe Flacco CIN vs. CHI
Note: Flacco is day-to-day with a shoulder issue; he briefly had it checked out in the locker room while the Jets were on their go-ahead drive.
13.Trevor Lawrence JAC at LV
14.Sam Darnold SEA at WAS
15.*Jacoby Brissett ARZ at DAL
Note: The Cardinals have not yet announced whether Brissett or Kyler Murray (foot) will start.
16.Aaron Rodgers PIT vs. IND
17.Jaxson Dart NYG vs. SF
18.*Bo Nix DEN at HOU
Note: Nix indeed got well against the threadbare Cowboys secondary, after throwing a terrible INT in the first quarter. It'll be a lot tougher this week on the road at Houston.
19.*Mac Jones SF at NYG
Note: Jones suffered a bruised knee in the loss to the Texans and is day-to-day.
20.Geno Smith LV vs. JAX
21.Cam Ward TEN vs. LAC
22.*Tua Tagovailoa MIA vs. BAL
Note: Apparently all that Tua needed was an illness that also affected his vision to have his best game of the year.
23.Marcus Mariota WAS vs. SEA
24.C.J. Stroud HOU vs. DEN
25.*Kirk Cousins ATL at NE
Note: Cousins turned in a woeful performance against the Dolphins, albeit one with a hand tied behind his back with Drake London missing.
26.*J.J. McCarthy MIN at DET
Note: McCarthy (ankle) will have a full week of prep this week before likely starting on Sunday against the Vikings. Max Brosmer would be the backup.
27.*Andy Dalton CAR at GB
Note: Both Dalton and Kirk Cousins looked overwhelmed in situations where the consensus was that they weren't that far off from the starter on their respective teams.
28.*Tyler Shough NO at LAR
Note: Shough will start this week after replacing Spencer Rattler in the second half last week.
29.*Michael Penix ATL at NE
Note: Penix (knee) was described as day-to-day on Monday by coach Raheem Morris following the Falcons' loss to Miami.
30.*Brock Purdy SF at NYG
Note: There's a chance that Purdy (toe) could return this week, though coach Kyle Shanahan said that it's too early to commit one way or another.
31.Tyler Huntley BAL at MIA
32.*Bryce Young CAR at GB
Note: Young (ankle) had an encouraging running session Monday and the team is hopeful he might be able to practice Wednesday. Teammate Andy Dalton was overwhelmed by the Bills' pass rush in Week 8.
33.*Jayden Daniels WAS vs. SEA
Note: Daniels (hamstring) had a good rehab session Tuesday and will participate in Wednesday's practice. The Commanders play another stand-alone game on Sunday night against Seattle.
34.*Kyler Murray ARZ at DAL
Note: Murray (foot) was on the field for Tuesday's bonus practice session, and is 'doing better' than he was during the two weeks where he missed games before the bye. The Cardinals haven't yet announced who is starting between Murray and Jacoby Brissett.
35.*Spencer Rattler NO at LAR
Note: Rattler has been benched in favor of Tyler Shough. Rattler will be the No. 2 quarterback.
36.*Carson Wentz MIN at DET
Note: Wentz is out for the season due to a left shoulder injury that requires surgery, one that he has been playing on since the London game.
37.Jalen Hurts PHI at
38.Baker Mayfield TB at
39.Dillon Gabriel CLE at
40.Justin Fields NYJ at

7.Kyren Williams LA vs. NO
8.Josh Jacobs GB vs. CAR
9.Derrick Henry BAL at MIA
10.Javonte Williams DAL vs. ARI

14.Chase Brown CIN vs. CHI

16.Jaylen Warren PIT vs. IND

24.Rhamondre Stevenson NE vs. ATL
25.Bam Knight ARZ at DAL
26.Jacory Croskey-Merritt WAS vs. SEA
27.*Chuba Hubbard CAR at GB
Note: Hubbard is expected to have fewer snaps and touches going forward, following coach Dave Canales's comments on Monday.
28.Kyle Monangai CHI at CIN
29.*Aaron Jones MIN at DET
Note: Jones played more snaps than Mason on Thursday night, though both were marginalized by the game flow.
30.Tony Pollard TEN vs. LAC
31.*TreVeyon Henderson NE vs. ATL
Note: Henderson had a season-high 75 yards, but also lost a fumble in the red zone.
32.David Montgomery DET vs. MIN
33.Woody Marks HOU vs. DEN
34.Jordan Mason MIN at DET
35.RJ Harvey DEN at HOU
36.Tyjae Spears TEN vs. LAC
37.*Samaje Perine CIN vs. CHI
Note: For the second week in a row the Bengals ran the ball well, and Perine played a bigger role this week, running for 94 yards and a touchdown.
38.Tyler Allgeier ATL at NE
39.Nick Chubb HOU vs. DEN
40.Emanuel Wilson GB vs. CAR
41.*Ollie Gordon MIA vs. BAL
Note: Will the Dolphins' commitment to the run continue even against teams that can score against them? If so, then Gordon will have some enduring value.
42.Bhayshul Tuten JAC at LV
43.Ray Davis BUF vs. KC
44.Kenneth Gainwell PIT vs. IND
45.Justice Hill BAL at MIA
46.Jeremy McNichols WAS vs. SEA
47.Blake Corum LA vs. NO
48.*Brashard Smith KC at BUF
Note: Smith only had three official carries on Monday night, with another good run called back due to a holding penalty. He'll be busier this week against the Bills presumably, due to Pacheco's MCL sprain.
49.Chris Brooks GB vs. CAR
50.*Devin Singletary NYG vs. SF
Note: Singletary might have a bigger role going forward now that Cam Skattebo is out for the season.
51.Brian Robinson SF at NYG
52.*Devin Neal NO at LAR
Note: Neal didn't have any carries in the loss to the Bucs, but did play 46 percent of the offensive snaps. Unfortunately, the Saints could be in 'abandon-the-run' mode most weeks.
53.Trevor Etienne CAR at GB
54.Ty Johnson BUF vs. KC
55.Chris Rodriguez WAS vs. SEA
56.*Keaton Mitchell BAL at MIA
Note: It appears that Mitchell has surpassed Justice Hill in the Ravens' pecking order, at least when they're playing with a lead.
57.Jaydon Blue DAL vs. ARI
58.LeQuint Allen JAC at LV
59.Zavier Scott MIN at DET
60.*Michael Carter ARZ at DAL
Note: Carter was released and then re-signed to the practice squad.

4.Los Angeles Chargers at TEN
5.*New England Patriots vs. ATL
