2025 Projections
2025 Fantasy Outlook
Trask returns for his fifth season in the Buccaneers' QB room after re-upping on a one-year deal this offseason. However, as is customary, he's projected to barely see the field if all goes as planned. The 2021 second-round pick has only 11 regular-season pass attempts through his first four seasons and should have a clear path to No. 2 quarterback duties once again behind Baker Mayfield, who's played in all 34 regular-season games and three postseason contests since joining the Buccaneers in 2023. RANKS
Poor showing in second exhibition
Trask completed three of 10 passes for 19 yards with no touchdowns or interceptions in the Buccaneers' 17-14 preseason win over the Steelers on Saturday night. He also rushed once for four yards.
ANALYSIS
Trask entered the game after starter Teddy Bridgewater, who he's trying to hold off for the No. 2 quarterback job. While Bridgewater looked impressive -- especially for a player who signed about halfway through training camp -- and led the Buccaneers to two touchdowns, Trask's performance over his four possessions was essentially the opposite. Tampa Bay's offense netted all of 44 yards across the quartet of drives, with each culminating in punts. Trask did put together a much better performance in the preseason opener against the Titans, when he completed 12 of 16 passes for 129 yards; however, the fact Bridgewater has proven a quick study in coordinator Josh Grizzard's offense presumably narrows the gap between both players considerably, and Saturday night's preseason finale against the Bills could serve as the platform for each to cement their fate come roster cutdowns.

Trask hoped to push Baker Mayfield for starts last season, but that never materialized and he ended up attempting just one pass (which fell incomplete). With Mayfield back in the fold with a new $100 million contract, the song remains the same for Trask. At 6-5, 236, Trask has a strong arm and threw with touch and accuracy in college, but as long as Mayfield keeps performing, he’s stuck as the backup. The Buccaneers return their key offensive playmakers, and while offensive coordinator Dave Canales bolted for Carolina, Tampa Bay hired former Kentucky OC Liam Coen to continue the Sean McVay-derived offense -- Coen previously coached under McVay with the Rams. Trask isn’t particularly mobile, so probably wouldn’t offer much rushing upside if he takes the field.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Likely in line for No. 2 job
Trask appears to have locked up the Buccaneers' No. 2 quarterback job over John Wolford with his performance in Tampa Bay's preseason finale against the Dolphins on Friday night.
ANALYSIS
Wolford suffered a rib injury that caused his exit from the Buccaneers' second preseason contest, but he was back at practice Monday. Nevertheless, once Trask took over from Baker Mayfield after the latter's first-quarter cameo, he went the rest of the way for Tampa Bay on Friday. The third-year signal-caller completed 17 of 24 passes for 141 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions against Miami's reserves, almost certainly cementing the No. 2 role for the second straight season. Greg Auman of FOXSports.com reports Trask talked up the value of the extended opportunity he received Friday, particularly key for a player that has only 10 regular-season pass attempts in his first two years but is one big hit on Mayfield away from having to step in.
