2026 Fantasy Outlook
Williams had a big opportunity last year, joining the receiver-needy Patriots as the 69th overall draft pick (early Round 3) right when QB Drake Maye was on the cusp of a breakout. Coming off a 1,198-yard, 14-TD season in his final year at Washington State, the speedy rookie (4.4 40) never managed to get a foothold in New England's offense. He was active for all 17 regular-season games and scored TDs of 72, 37 and 33 yards, but Williams made just seven other catches, finishing with 10-209-3 on 21 targets. He was targeted on a measly 12.4 percent of his routes in the regular season, before catching just two of six targets for 14 yards in four playoff games (41 routes). The Patriots now have free-agent signing Romeo Doubs and trade acquisition A.J. Brown atop the depth chart, leaving Williams to compete for depth roles with Mack Hollins, Kayshon Boutte, DeMario Douglas and others. Read Past Outlooks
RANKS
One catch in Week 2 win
Williams caught one of two targets for 10 yards in Sunday's 20-3 win over the Steelers.
ANALYSIS
Despite A.J. Brown (ankle) missing his first game after going down in Week 1 against Seattle, Williams played just 20 percent of the Patriots' offensive snaps against Pittsburgh. He operated as the fourth receiver, well behind Mack Hollins, Romeo Doubs and slot man DeMario Douglas. Williams doesn't hold much fantasy value in redraft formats.

2025 Fantasy Outlook
Williams heads to New England as the 69th overall pick after a college career with five consecutive seasons of more than 400 yards, including receiving lines of 61-843-6 (2023) and 70-1,198-14 (2024) after transferring to Washington State. Unlike most five-year contributors, he's not especially old for his draft class, having first played at UNLV when he was just 17 years old. Williams proved his speed with a 4.40 at this year's combine, although his jumps (36.5-inch vertical, 119-inch broad jump) hint at merely average athleticism for a 5-foot-11, 190-pound wideout. In New England, he'll have a chance to immediately become QB Drake Maye's top deep threat -- a role 2023 sixth-round pick Kayshon Boutte handled with mixed results last year. The Patriots' top targets otherwise are 31-year-old Stefon Diggs (rehabbing an ACL tear), slot receiver DeMario Douglas and tight end Hunter Henry, which means there are plenty of downfield targets for the taking in an offense with a strong-armed, aggressive QB.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Could be beneficiary of Brown's absence
Williams is set for a larger role in Week 2 against the Steelers, per Jeremy Fowler and Dan Graziano of ESPN.com.
ANALYSIS
Williams played just 11 snaps on offense and wasn't targeted during New England's Week 1 loss to the Seahawks. The Patriots lost top wide receiver A.J. Brown for at least four weeks due to an ankle injury sustained in that game, while fellow offseason acquisition Romeo Doubs posted a goose egg on three targets in his team debut. New England will look to Williams to provide a spark at wide receiver during Brown's absence. Williams wasn't involved much during his rookie season, but the 2025 third-round pick scored a touchdown in each of the Patriots' three 2026 preseason games.
